Abstract

Sampah merupakan permasalahan lingkungan yang dihadapi oleh seluruh Kota di dunia, salah satunya Kota Kediri. Jumlah sampah di Kota Kediri mengalami peningkatan setiap tahunnya, untuk mengetahui penyebab dari permasalahan tersebut penulis melakukan penelitian pada sosial budaya yang ada di masyarakat dan pengaruhnya terhadap peningkatan jumlah sampah di Kota Kediri. Penulis menggunakan teori perubahan sosial budaya oleh William F. Ogburn, yang mana perubahan sosial dikaji menjadi dua aspek material yaitu teknologi yang berkesinambangunan dengan aspek immaterial yaitu sosial budaya masyarakat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui telaah literatur, observasi dan wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) Teknologi yang banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat Kota Kediri di era digital ini adalah media sosial dan e-commerce. 2) Media sosial dan ecommerce memberikan macam-macam referensi produk dan kemudahan aktivitas berbelanja masyarakat untuk memenuhi kebutuhan mereka. 3) Kemudahan teknologi digital tersebut mempengaruhi perilaku konsumtif masyarakat menjadi semakin meningkat. 4) Meningkatnya perilaku konsumtif masyarakat tentu menghasilkan lebih banyak sampah dari produk yang dikonsumsi sehingga mempengaruhi peningkatan jumlah sampah di Kota Kediri. Setelah data dari hasil penelitian didapat, data divisualisasikan dalam format film dokumenter dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Tujuan dari perancangan ini adalah menghasilkan film dokumenter yang menampilkan pengaruh perkembangan sosial budaya terhadap peningkatan jumlah sampah di Kota Kediri.

English Abstract

Garbage is an environmental problem faced by all cities in the world, one of which is the City of Kediri. The amount of waste in the City of Kediri has increased every year, to find out the causes of these problems the authors conducted research on the socio-culture that exists in the community and its effect on increasing the amount of waste in the City of Kediri. The author uses the theory of socio-cultural change by William F. Ogburn, in which social change is studied into two material aspects, namely technology which is continuous with immaterial aspects, namely the social culture of society. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis approach. Data collection was carried out through literature review, observation and interviews. The results of this study are: 1) The technologies that are widely used by the people of Kediri City in this digital era are social media and e-commerce. 2) Social media and ecommerce provide various product references and facilitate public shopping activities to meet their needs. 3) The ease of digital technology influencing people's consumptive behavior is increasing. 4) The increasing consumption behavior of the community certainly produces more waste from the products consumed, thereby affecting the increase in the amount of waste in the City of Kediri. After the data from the research results were obtained, the data was visualized in a documentary film format with a descriptive approach. The purpose of this design is to produce a documentary film showing the influence of socio-cultural developments on the increase in the amount of waste in the City of Kediri.
