Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi respon produksi ternak sapi Madura terhadap pakan yang disajikan yaitu berupa rumput lapang yang disuplementasi dengan pakan konsentrat. Penelitian dibagi menjadi 2 tahap yaitu penelitian in vivo (Tahap I) dan in vitro (Tahap II). Hasil penelitian tahap I menunjukkan bahwa penambahan pakan konsentrat pada rumput lapang meningkatkan nilai PBBH sapi Madura dan menurunkan nilai konversi pakan secara nyata (P<0,05). Penelitian tahap I menghasilkan PBB paling tinggi pada perlakuan P4 sebesar 0,81 kg/ekor/hari dan konversi pakan terendah pada perlakuan P4 (7,91). Hasil penelitian in vitro menunjukkan bahwa penambahan pakan konsentrat meningkatkan secara sangat nyata (P<0,01) nilai produksi gas, degradasi BK dan BO, pH dan suhu rumen serta ESPM. Penelitian in vitro menghasilkan nilai ESPM paling baik pada perlakuan P4 sebesar 51,39 g n/Kg BOTR. Hasil penelitian baik tahap I maupun tahap II secara konsisten menunjukkan bahwa penambahan pakan konsentrat dengan proporsi ampas tahu paling tinggi (30%) memberikan pengaruh terhadap performa sapi Madura dan Madrasin yang dapat dilihat dari nilai PBB dan ESPM.

English Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate the response of Madura cattle production to the feed provided, which consisted of field grass supplemented with concentrate feed. The study was divided into two phases: in vivo research (Phase I) and in vitro (Phase II). The results of Phase I showed that the addition of concentrate feed to field grass increased the Madura cattle daily weight gain (DWG) and significantly decreased feed conversion ratio (P<0.05). Phase I research yielded the highest DWG in treatment P4 (0.81 kg/head/day) and the lowest feed conversion ratio in treatment P4 (7.91). The results of the in vitro study showed that the addition of concentrate feed significantly increased gas production, degradation of dry matter (DM) and organic matter (OM), rumen pH and temperature, as well as microbial protein synthesis efficiency (MPSE) (P<0.01). The in vitro study resulted in the highest MPSE value in treatment P4 at 51.39 g N/kg OM degraded. The results of both Phase I and Phase II consistently showed that the addition of concentrate feed with the highest proportion of tofu waste (30%) had the most significant effect on the performance of Madura and Madrasin cattle which can be seen from the DWG and MPSE values.
