Abstract
Pada awal tahun 2022, pembelajaran tatap muka atau luring mulai berangsur-angsur dilakukan. Mahasiswa baru adalah kelompok masyarakat yang termasuk ke dalam golongan remaja akhir atau dewasa awal, yang mana pada periode tersebut adalah masa pencarian dan penemuan jati diri, yaitu suatu masa yang penuh dengan masalah dan ketegangan emosional, periode komitmen dan masa ketergantungan, perubahan nilai-nilai, kreativitas dan penyesuaian diri pada pola hidup yang baru sehingga lebih rentan dengan adanya konflik pribadi ataupun sosial karena tidak dapat secara tanggap menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungan dan aturan di sekitar. Dari kondisi tersebut, mahasiswa baru perlu sigap dalam memahami dan menyesuaikan diri dengan kondisi dan kebiasaan dari kampus ataupun lingkungan baru yang tentu sangat berbeda dengan yang pernah dilalui saat SMA dan kebiasaan saat pembelajaran daring. Maka dari itu, pada perancangan kali ini, digunakan metode penelitian mixed method yang terdiri dari penelitian kualitatif yang meneliti fenomena dan pengalaman culture shock yang terjadi kepada mahasiswa baru, serta penelitian kuantitatif untuk meneliti data mengenai pemahaman dan perasaan mereka seputar adaptasi perkuliahan luring. Dari hasil penelitian itu, digunakan data yang telah diperoleh untuk kemudian dirancang menjadi suatu produk buku panduan digital untuk membantu mahasiswa baru dalam mengatasi culture shock yang mereka sedang alami.
English Abstract
In the beginning of 2022, offline learning was held gradually. Freshman college student is a group of society classified as late teens or early adult, where in that period is common for them interested to find and discover who they are. One period that is, stacked with problems, emotional tensions, commitment, dependency, change of values, creativity and adaptation towards new way of living so that they are more vulnerable towards personal or social conflict because of them unable to adapt and adjust themselves to their social surroundings. From that condition, freshman college students required to be srightly aware and actively be able to adjust themselves to the condition and custom in campus or wherever they may be, in which become very much different from the online classes they once had in high school. Therefore, this design used mixed methodology as the research method that includes qualitative research that studies the phenomenon and the experiences of culture shock in offline classes from freshman college students’ perspective, as well as quantitative method that studies more about their understanding and response towards the issue. Then, from the collected informations from the research result, the researcher designed a product in form of a digital guidebook that compiled the information of how to overcome culture shock that they were experiencing
