Abstract
Kailan merupakan jenis tanaman kubis daun yang memiliki banyak kandungan nutrisi yang baik bagi tubuh. Kailan merupakan tanaman yang berasal dari daerah sub tropis, sehingga iklim dan cuaca merupakan faktor penting bagi pertumbuhan tanaman kailan. Salah satu sistem budidaya yang cocok untuk pertumbuhan tanaman kailan yakni hidroponik, karena budidaya hidroponik umumnya dilakukan dalam greenhouse, sehingga iklim dan cuaca dapat dikendalikan. Dalam budidaya hidroponik suhu menjadi faktor utama yang perlu diperhatikan. Suhu yang terlalu tinggi akibat radiasi sinar matahari, menyebabkan pertumbuhan tanaman kailan terhambat, di mana suhu optimal bagi tanaman kailan yakni 15-25°C. Pendinginan zona perakaran merupakan teknologi untuk mendinginkan daerah perakaran tanaman, agar suhu tanaman tetap terjaga, sehingga aktivitas pembelahan sel dan metabolisme tanaman dapat terjaga. Pada penelitian ini, untuk menjaga suhu lingkungan tanaman kailan tetap optimal, digunakan sistem pendinginan sederhana berbasis Peltier TEC-12706 dengan sensor suhu Thermostat XH�W1209. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yakni Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non Faktorial, dengan perlakuan pendinginan selama 3 jam (W3), 6 jam (W6), dan 9 jam (W9). Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan diketahui bahwa rata-rata suhu yang dicapai oleh sistem pendingin pada bak pendingin pada ketiga perlakuan W3, W6, dan W9 secara berurutan yakni 19,5°C, 19,8°C, dan 20°C. Sedangkan suhu pada bak hidroponik hasil pendinginan pada tiap perlakuan secara berurutan yakni 21,8°C, 21,3°C, dan 21,4°C. Adapun daya yang dibutuhkan sistem pendingin pada perlakuan W3, W6, dan W9 secara berurutan yakni 122,2 watt, 119,1 watt, 117,6 watt. Hasil analisis pada parameter pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pendinginan berpengaruh pada produktivitas tanaman kailan, di mana perlakuan pendinginan selama 9 jam (W9) merupakan pengaruh terbaik.
English Abstract
Kailan is a type of leaf cabbage plant that contains many nutrients that are good for the body. Kailan is a plant that comes from the sub-tropics, so climate and weather are important factors for the growth of kailan plants. One cultivation system that is suitable for the growth of kailan plants is hydroponics, because hydroponic cultivation is generally carried out in a greenhouse, so that climate and weather can be controlled. In hydroponic cultivation, temperature is the main factor that needs to be considered. Temperatures that are too high due to solar radiation cause the growth of kailan plants to be inhibited, where the optimal temperature for kailan plants is 15-25°C. Root zozne cooling is a technology to cool the root zone of plants, so that the temperature of the plant is maintained, so that cell division activity and plant metabolism can be maintained. In this study, to keep the environmental temperature of kailan plants optimal, a simple cooling system based on Peltier TEC-12706 with temperature sensor Thermostat XH-W1209 was used. The research method used was a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with cooling treatments for 3 hours (W3), 6 hours (W6), and 9 hours (W9). Based on the observations, it is known that the average temperature reached by the cooling system in the cooling basin in the three treatments W3, W6, and W9 is 19,5°C, 19,8°C, and 20°C, respectively. While the temperature in the hydroponic basin as a result of cooling in each treatment is 21,8°C, 21,3°C, and 21,4°C, respectively. The power required by the cooling system in treatments W3, W6, and W9 is 122,2 watts, 119,1 watts, 117,6 watts, respectively. The results of the analysis on the observation parameters show that cooling treatment affects the productivity of kailan plants, where cooling treatment for 9 hours (W9) is the best effect.
