Abstract

Salah satu institusi yang memainkan peran penting dalam mencapai kesetaraan gender dalam politik adalah partai politik; ini memungkinkan masyarakat, terutama perempuan, untuk aktif berpartisipasi dalam politik. Perempuan dapat memperoleh kekuasaan dan kepemimpinan dalam pemerintahan dengan bergabung dengan partai politik. Studi ini menyelidiki bagaimana proses pemilihan calon legislatif perempuan PDI Perjuangan untuk Pemilu 2024 di Sumatera Utara dilakukan. Metode deskriptif kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tahap pertama dari proses seleksi diri adalah: Dimana perempuan yang berkeinginan untuk menjadi calon legislatif memiliki ambisi dan kapasitas yang memadai untuk terlibat dalam politik. Mereka aktif mengambil inisiatif untuk melibatkan diri dalam dunia politik, mengungkapkan semangat politik mereka, dan akhirnya memutuskan untuk mencalonkan diri berdasarkan ambisi personal mereka. Ini mencerminkan bahwa perempuan memiliki kemauan dan tekad untuk berperan dalam politik. Kedua Tahap Seleksi Partai: Proses seleksi kandidat perempuan oleh PDI Perjuangan mencerminkan hibersistem dan orientasi perempuan. Menurut aturan partai ini dan peraturan Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU), partai politik memiliki peran penting dalam menentukan calon legislatif perempuan. Partai politik bertanggung jawab untuk memilih calon yang sesuai dengan visi dan misi partai serta peraturan yang berlaku. Kemudian kendala yang dihadapi dalam proses penentuan kandidat perempuan, salah satunya adalah sumber daya manusia, yang mungkin mencakup kurangnya calon perempuan yang memenuhi kriteria yang diinginkan oleh partai. Selain itu, masalah waktu juga merupakan faktor penghambat, terutama bagi calon perempuan yang sudah memiliki keluarga. Ini menunjukkan bahwa ada tantangan nyata yang perlu diatasi agar lebih banyak perempuan dapat terlibat dalam politik. Perempuan memiliki kemauan dan ambisi untuk berperan dalam politik, dan Partai politik memainkan peran penting dalam memilih calon perempuan yang sesuai dengan tujuan dan tujuan partai mereka. Agar lebih banyak perempuan dapat terlibat aktif dalam politik dan menduduki jabatan legislatif, perlu ada upaya untuk mengatasi masalah seperti sumber daya manusia dan waktu.

English Abstract

One institution that plays an important role in achieving gender equality in politics is political parties; this allows people, especially women, to actively participate in politics. Women can gain power and leadership in government by joining political parties. This study investigates how the process of selecting female PDI-P legislative candidates for the 2024 elections in North Sumatra was carried out. Qualitative descriptive methods were used in this research. The research results show that the first stage of the self-selection process is: Where women who wish to become legislative candidates have sufficient ambition and capacity to be involved in politics. They actively take the initiative to involve themselves in the world of politics, express their political passion, and ultimately decide to run for office based on their personal ambitions. This reflects that women have the will and determination to play a role in politics. Second Stage of Party Selection: The selection process for female candidates by the PDI Perjuangan reflects the hiersystem and women's orientation. According to the rules of this party and the regulations of the General Election Commission (KPU), political parties have an important role in determining female legislative candidates. Political parties are responsible for selecting candidates who are in accordance with the party's vision and mission as well as applicable regulations. Then, the obstacles faced in the process of determining female candidates, one of which is human resources, which may include the lack of female candidates who meet the criteria desired by the party. Apart from that, the problem of time is also an inhibiting factor, especially for female candidates who already have a family. This shows that there are real challenges that need to be overcome to get more women involved in politics. Women have the will and ambition to play a role in politics, and political parties play an important role in selecting female candidates who fit their party's goals and objectives. In order for more women to be actively involved in politics and hold legislative positions, efforts need to be made to address issues such as human resources and time.
