Abstract
Persepsi masyarakat terhadap kepolisian cenderung tidak seperti yang diharapkan oleh lembaga kepolisian itu sendiri. Maka dari itu, kelembagaan polisi khususnya Polda Jatim melakukan berbagai terobosan untuk meningkatkan citra polisi sebagai mitra masyarakat yang tugas utamanya mengayomi dan memberikan ketertiban serta keamanan bagi masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, pendekatan deskriptif, dengan data dikumpulkan dari hasil wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang telah terkumpul dianalisis dan diuraikan kemudian menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian yang telah diperoleh: (1) Humas di Polda Jatim meningkatkan citra dengan diadakannya kegiatan penerangan umum. (2) Menginformasikan kegiatan-kegiatan yang dilaksanakan Kapolda Jatim beserta jajarannya untuk meningkatkan citra positif. (3) Melakukan peliputan serta mengolah berita agar menjadi berita yang siap untuk dibagikan.
English Abstract
Public perceptions of the police tend not to be as expected by the police agency itself. Therefore, the police institutions in particular Polda Jatim made various breakthroughs to enhance the image of the police as a community partner whose primary task is to protect and provide order and security for the community. The research uses qualitative methods, a descriptive approach, with data collected from the results of interviews and documentation. The data that has been collected is analyzed and deciphered and then drawn conclusions. The results of the research have been obtained: (1) Humas in Polda Jatim improves the image with the arrangement of public lighting activities. (2) To inform the activities carried out by Kapolda Jatim along with its practice to enhance the positive image. (iii) Publishing and processing news to be ready to be shared.
