Abstract
Karya budaya diyakini merefleksikan manusia, termasuk mencerminkan jati diri pemangkunya. Maka dari itu, tujuan penelitian ini yaitu (1) mendeskripsikan jati diri etnis Bugis Wajo dalam Cerita Rakyat Wajo Sulawesi Selatan (CRWSS), dan (2) mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai pendidikan dalam Cerita Rakyat Wajo Sulawesi Selatan (CRWSS) yang merefleksikan jati diri etnis Bugis Wajo . Pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk menyelidik sumber data antologi cerita rakyat daerah Bugis Wajo Sulawesi Selatan karya Abdul Rasyid dan Muhammad Abidin Nur tahun 1999 setebal 136 halaman. Teknik dalam pengumpulan data adalah studi pustaka dengan sistem membaca, mendeskripsikan secara rinci fenomena budaya dalam teks. Selain itu, teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan teknik catat. Hasil penelitian menemukan nilai-nilai pendidikan, yaitu nilai siri na pacce (moralitas), nilai getteng (keteguhan kepada Tuhan), nilai alempureng (kejujuran), nilai acca (kebijaksanaan) dan nilai sipakatau (kepedulian). Nilai-nilai pendidikan dalam CRWSS ini kuat dipengaruhi budaya lokal Sulawesi Selatan yang berlandaskan pada Lontara yang merupakan pedoman hidup masyarakat Bugis Wajo .
English Abstract
Cultural works are believed to reflect humans, including the identity of their holders. Therefore, the objectives of this study are (1) to describe the identity of the Bugis Wajo ethnicity in the Folklore of Wajo South Sulawesi (CRWSS) and (2) to delineate the educational values in the Folklore of Wajo South Sulawesi (CRWSS) that mirror the Bugis Wajo ethnic identity. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to investigate the data sourced from the 136-page anthology of folktales from the Bugis Wajo region of South Sulawesi by Abdul Rasyid and Muhammad Abidin Nur in 1999. The data collection technique involved a literature study with a systematic reading system, providing a detailed description of the cultural phenomena in the text. Additionally, data collection techniques included observation and note-taking. The study revealed educational values such as the value of siri na pacce (morality), the value of getteng (constancy to God), the value of alempureng (honesty), the value of acca (wisdom), and the value of sipakatau (care). These educational values in CRWSS are strongly influenced by the local culture of South Sulawesi, which is rooted in Lontara and serves as a life guide for the Bugis Wajo people.
