Abstract

Pupuk kimia dinilai dapat meningkatkan hasil panen jagung manis, akan tetapi penggunaan secara berkerlanjutan dan dalam jangka yang panjang dapat menyebabkan hilangnya kesuburan tanah. Adapun tanaman jagung manis merupakan salah satu tanaman yang banyak di produksi setiap tahunnya dengan kebutuhan pupuk yang cukup besar. Sangat disayangkan apabila dalam budidayanya tidak diimbangi dengan pemakaian pupuk organik dan kompos. Hasilnya lahan tanam akan semakin terdegradasi, sehingga berdampak pada penurunan produksinya. Sedangkan tanaman padi, jagung dan tebu termasuk dalam sepuluh besar komoditas pertanian yang banyak diproduksi di Indonesia. Limbah yang dihasilkan juga tergolong besar berkisar 50-70% dari total produksinya. Artinya jika hal tersebut dimanfaatkan sebagai kompos,tentunya akan mengurangi penggunaan pupuk kimia dan mencegah terjadinya degradasi lahan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh berbagai jenis kompos kompos dan dosisnya terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil produksi tanaman jagung manis (Zea mays L. saccharata). Pelaksanaan dari bulan November 2021 sampai Januari 2022 di Kelurahan Jatimulyo, Kec . Lowokwaru, Kota Malang. Rancangan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok faktorial (RAKF) dengan 2 faktor (jenis dan dosis kompos), pupuk dasar NPK 200 kg ha-1 dengan 3 ulangan dan 9 perlakuan sehingga terdapat 27 unit perlakuan dengan kode: P1: Kompos jerami padi, P2: Kompos brangkasan jagung,P3: Kompos daun tebu, D1: 7,5 t ha-1,D2: 15 t ha-1,D3: 22,5 t ha-1. Jumlah tanaman per satuan percobaan sebanyak 80 tanaman, terdiri 12 (duabelas) untuk pengamatan pertumbuhan destruktif), dan 10 (sepuluh) untuk pengamatan panen dengan total keseluruhan 2,160 tanaman. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat Interaksi antara jenis dan dosis kompos pada parameter hasil pertanaman, hasil panen dan panjang tongkol jagung Manis. Perlakuan jenis kompos padi dan jagung pada dosis 22,5 t/ha. mampu meningkatkan hasil panen jagung manis dibandingkan dengan dosis 7,5 t ha-1, dan 15 t ha-1 . Adapun pada parameter pertumbuhan jagung, jenis dan dosis kompos berpengaruh masing-masing pada keseluruhan parameter terkecuali pada Jumlah daun dan total gula pipilan.

English Abstract

The use of inorganic fertilizer is considered to increase sweet corn yields, however, continued use and in the long term may cause loss of soil fertility.Sweet corn is one of the crops that is widely produced every year and requires quite a large amount of fertilizer. Cultivation without consider of using organic fertilizer and compost will resulted eroded and degraded in soil fertility then resulted low production. Moreover, rice, corn and sugar cane are included in the top ten agricultural commodities that are widely produced in Indonesia. The waste produced is also quite large, ranging from 30-70% of total production. This means it is potential for used as compost to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and prevent land degradation. This research was conducted to determine the effect of various types of compost fertilizer and their doses on the growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays L. saccharata). Implementation from November 2021 to January 2022 in Jatimulyo Village, Lowokwaru district, Malang. Research design used was a factorial randomized block design with 2 factors (types and dosage of compost), 200 kg ha-1 NPK fertilizer with 3 replications and 9 treatments so that there were 27 treatment units with codes: P1: Rice straw compost, P2: Corn stover compost, P3: Sugarcane leaf compost, D1: 7.5 t ha-1, D2: t ha-1, D3: 22.5 t ha-1. The number of plants per experimental unit was 80 plants, consisting of 12 (twelve) plants for growth observations (destructive observations), and 10 (ten) for harvest observations for a total of 2,160 plants. The results of this research are that there is an interaction between the type and dosage of compost on the parameters of yield per plant, harvest yield and sweet corn cob length. Treatment of rice and corn compost at a dosage of 22.5 t ha-1 was able to increase sweet corn yields compare with the dosage at 7,5 t ha-1, and 15 t ha-1. However the type and dose of compost each have an influence on all growth parameters except for the number of leaves and total sugar.
