Abstract
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Mahardi Farm, Desa Selorejo, Kabupaten Blitar mulai pada bulan September – Oktober tahun 2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya korelasi antara statistik vital dan bobot badan dengan volume testis sehingga dapat digunakan untuk seleksi awal bibit unggul pejantan domba Crossed Texel. Materi penelitian adalah 32 ekor domba Crossed Texel jantan dengan umur 12 – 24 bulan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survey secara langsung di Mahardi Farm dan pengukuran dilakukan secara langsung meliputi lingkar dada (LD), panjang badan (PB), tinggi badan (TB), bobot badan (BB), dan volume testis (VT). Variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah volume testis sebagai variabel terikat (Y), statistik vital dan bobot badan sebagai variabel bebas (X). Analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana untuk mengetahui tingkat korelasi dan persentase pengaruh antar variabel serta tingkat signifikan kedua variabel.
English Abstract
This study aimed to determine the correlation between vital statistics, body weight, and testicular volume in Crossed Texel sheep. The research was conducted in Mahardi Farm, Selorejo Village, Blitar Regency. This research material was 32 Crossed Texel sheep aged 12 – 24 months. The research method used was a survey and direct measurement including chest circumference (CC), body length (BL), body height (BH), body weight (BW), and testicular volume (TV). The data obtained were analyzed using simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was a very significant correlation between CC, BL, BH, and BW with TV in Crossed Texel sheep (P<0.01). The correlation coefficient value from highest to lowest is 0,77; 0,74; 0,7; 0,65. Body weight has the highest correlation coefficient with testicular volume compared to chest circumference, body length, and height. The conclusion of this study was that body weight in Crossed Texel sheep can be used as the main predictor for determining testicular volume size.
