Abstract
Untuk mengolah limbah yang dihasilkan, PT XYZ Pasuruan menggunakan teknik kimia, fisik, dan biologis. Beberapa parameter diperhatikan selama proses pengolahan: COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand), Tss, SV (Sludge Volume), pH, dan suhu. Pengukuran skor COD limbah memakai teknik titrasi open refluks (metode kimia), pH diukur menggunakan kertas unversal indocator, dan suhu diukur dengan termometer raksa. Pengepresan dari mesin belt press akan menghasilkan sludge yang merupakan hasil samping dari pengepresan. Meskipun limbah sludge mampu diolah menjadi pakan ternak karena mengandung nutrisi didalamnya, akan tetapi masih belum memenuhi standar SNI pakan ternak ruminansia. Selain itu, sludge yang dibiarkan akan menimbulkan bau menyengat, sehingga dilakukan fermentasi menggunakan EM-4 peternakan agar tingkat protein kasar meningkat dan serat kasar menurun. Pada percobaan ini, dilakukan fermentasi sludge selama 5 hari dengan 5 taraf perlakuan, P0 (0% EM-4), P1 (1% EM-4), P2 (2% EM-4), P3 (3% EM-4), P5 (4% EM-4). Setelah itu, mengkaji kondisi parameter fisik seperti bau, tekstur, pH, warna, serta suhu, dan parameter kimia seperti tingkat kadar protein kasar dan serat kasar. Melalui uji analisa anova, didapatkan bahwa fermentasi sludge menggunakan EM-4 memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata dari segi warna, tekstur dan bau, tetapi tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata pada pH dan suhu. Kemudian dilakukan uji lanjut DMRT untuk parameter warna, tekstur bau dan didapatkan hasil terbaik pada perlakuan P2 (EM-4 2%). Nilai protein kasar terbesar diperoleh pada perlakuan P1 (EM-4 1%), sedangkan kadar serat kasar terendah diperoleh pada perlakuan P2 (EM-4 2%).
English Abstract
To process the waste produced, PT XYZ Pasuruan uses chemical, physical and biological techniques. Several parameters are considered during the processing process: COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand), Tss, SV (Sludge Volume), pH, and temperature. The waste COD value was measured using the open reflux titration method (chemical method), the pH was measured using a universal indocator paper, and the temperature was measured with a mercury thermometer. Pressing from a belt press machine will produce sludge which is a by-product of pressing. Sludge waste has nutritional content that has the potential to be processed into animal feed, but it still does not meet the SNI standards for ruminant animal feed. Apart from that, the sludge that is left will cause a strong odor, so fermentation is carried out using livestock EM-4 to increase crude protein levels and reduce crude fiber. In this experiment, sludge fermentation was carried out for 5 days with 5 treatment levels, P0 (0% EM-4), P1 (1% EM-4), P2 (2% EM-4), P3 (3% EM-4) , P5 (4% EM-4). After that, physical parameters were analyzed in the form of texture, odor, color, pH and temperature as well as chemical parameters in the form of crude protein and crude fiber content. After carrying out anova analysis, it was discovered that fermentation using EM-4 had a very real influence in terms of color, texture and smell, but did not have a real influence on pH and temperature. Then a further DMRT test was carried out for color, smell, texture parameters and the best results were obtained in treatment P2 (EM-4 2%). The highest crude protein value was obtained in treatment P1 (EM-4 1%), while the lowest crude fiber content was obtained in treatment P2 (EM-4 2%).
