Abstract

English Abstract

As the global economy continues to grow, foreign companies have been establishing subsidiaries in various countries, including Indonesia. These companies are referred to as Multinational Corporations (MNCs) and typically consist of expatriate and local employees. One of the ways that can be done by local employees to assist the company realizing their vision is by demonstrating innovative work behavior for the benefit of the company, enabling it to competes globally. The objective of this research is to examine the relationship between knowledge sharing behavior and innovative work behavior among local employees in multinational corporations, as well as the moderating role of trait openness in this relationship. This study utilized a nonprobability sampling technique, specifically purposive sampling, with a total sample of 107 respondents. The research utilizes the Innovative Work Behavior (IWB) scale adapted by Nurmala & Widyasari (2021), the Knowledge Sharing Behavior scale adapted by Rahnjen et al. (2023), and the openness dimension from the Big Five Inventory adapted to Indonesian language by Ramdhani (2012). The research method used is a quantitative correlational analysis, utilizing zero-order correlation analysis and simple moderation analysis. Based on the analysis results, it was concluded that there is a relationship between knowledge sharing behavior and innovative work behavior. However, the trait openness did not play a moderating role in the relationship between these two variables. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the existing literature on the dynamics of innovative behavior among local employees in multinational corporations.
