Abstract

Harga diri merupakan hubungan individu dengan dirinya sendiri berupa sikap positif dan negatif di mana hal tersebut dapat mempengaruhi kepuasan individu dalam berbagai bidang dalam kehidupan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui terkait peran harga diri terhadap kepuasan hidup pada remaja. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah remaja dengan rentang usia 12-21 tahun dan berjumlah 568 responden (420 perempuan dan 148 laki-laki). Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES) dan The Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan accidental sampling dan analisis data dilakukan dengan metode regresi linear sederhana. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah variabel harga diri berperan secara signifikan dan positif terhadap kepuasan hidup pada remaja. Dalam penelitian ini diharapkan remaja dapat lebih menghargai diri sendiri yang nantinya akan mempengaruhi kepuasan hidup sehingga remaja dapat menjalani kehidupannya secara positif.

English Abstract

Self-esteem is an individual's relationship with themselves in the form of positive and negative attitudes, which can influence individual satisfaction in various aspects of life. This study aims to determine the role of self-esteem to life satisfaction on adolescents. The respondents in this study involved adolescents with an age range between 12-21 years old. This study's measuring tools are Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) and The Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). This study used a quantitative approach and data were analyzed using simple linear regression analysis. The total number of respondents in this study was 568 with 420 female and 148 male. This research uses a correlational quantitative approach with data collection techniques using accidental sampling and data analysis is carried out using a simple linear regression method. The result of the hypothesis test obtained that the alternative hypothesis is proven and not rejected, meaning that there is a self-esteem plays a significant and positive role in life satisfaction on adolescents. In this study it is hoped that adolescents can improve their self-esteem which will later affect life satisfaction hence they can live their lives positively.
