Abstract

Pendidikan SMK pada umumnya difokuskan untuk mempersiapkan siswa supaya dapat memiliki kesiapan dalam dunia kerja. Akan tetapi realitas di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa SMK menjadi kontributor tertinggi penyumbang Tingkat Pengangguran Terbuka (TPT) di Indonesia. Sebagai calon pekerja, siswa SMK memerlukan career adaptability supaya dapat menghadapi maupun mengantisipasi berbagai tantangan yang akan dihadapi dalam dunia kerja. Career adaptability tersebut tidak dapat terlepas dari faktor hardiness dan perceived social support. Oleh karena itu, melalui penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran hardiness dan perceived social support terhadap career adaptability pada siswa SMK. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif korelasional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 213 siswa SMK dengan rentang usia 16-21 tahun yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS), Dispositional Resilience Scale (DSR-15), dan Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). Data dikumpulkan melalui self-report yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hardiness dan perceived social support memberikan sumbangan efektif secara simultan terhadap career adaptability sebesar 15.2%. Selain itu, secara parsial hardiness dan perceived social support memberikan peran positif yang signifikan terhadap career adaptability. Hasil temuan dalam penelitian ini mengimplikasikan bahwa dalam membentuk career adaptability pada siswa SMK memerlukan peran dari faktor internal yang didukung oleh peran dari lingkungan eksternal.

English Abstract

Vocational high school education is generally focused on preparing students to be ready for the world of work. However, the reality on the ground shows that vocational high school student is the highest contributor to the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in Indonesia. As prospective workers, vocational high school students need career adaptability to face and anticipate various challenges that will be faced in the world of work. Career adaptability cannot be separated from the factors of hardiness and perceived social support. Therefore, this study aims to determine the role of hardiness and perceived social support on the career adaptability of vocational high school student. The research method used in this study is quantitative correlational research. The sample in this study amounted to 213 vocational high school students with an age range of 16-21 years selected through purposive sampling technique. The research instruments used in this study are Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS), Dispositional Resilience Scale (DSR-15), and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). Data were collected through self-report and were analyzed using multiple linear regression techniques. The results showed that hardiness and perceived social support simultaneously contributed effectively to career adaptability by 15.2%. In addition, partially hardiness and perceived social support provide a significant positive role on career adaptability. The findings in this study imply that shaping career adaptability in vocational high school student requires the role of internal factors supported by the role of the external environment.
