Abstract

Pandemi virus COVID-19 yang terjadi sejak tahun 2019 banyak merenggut nyawa, sehingga pemerintah mengambil keputusan untuk memberlakukan Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar (PSBB) yang berdampak pada gejala stress. Maka akan diperlukan strategi koping stress yang mempengaruhi perilaku makan pada orang dewasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan perilaku makan dan mengetahui strategi koping stress yang dilakukan oleh orang dewasa selama dan sesudah pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif pendekatan fenomenologi dengan melibatkan 12 informan yang dipilih menggunakan metode purposive sampling dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober hingga Desember 2022 dengan lingkup seluruh Indonesia. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam dan uji keabsahan data dilakukan triangulasi metode dan peneliti. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa strategi koping perubahan makan yaitu strategi yang fokus pada menyelesaikan masalah (problem focused strategy) berupa ada tidaknya perubahan perilaku makan orang dewasa mulai segi jenis/variasi, porsi dan frekuensi makan sehari yang dipengaruhi oleh cara mendapatkan makanan, dan faktor pemilihan bahan. Temuan dari kajian kualitatif, didapatkan 2 tema besar dan 8 kategori. Pada tema pertama terkait perubahan perilaku makan selama dan setelah pandemi COVID-19 terkait dengan porsi, frekuensi dan variasi makan lebih besar setelah pandemi dibandingkan selama pandemi. Untuk selama pandemi memilih mengolah makanan sendiri dibandingkan membeli. Pada tema kedua terkait dampak psikologis selama dan setelah pandemi COVID-19 meliputi perubahan kondisi psikologis, pengaruh kecemasan dalam hal mendapatkan bahan makanan, dan cara menghadapi kecemasan, sedangkan pengaruh pandemi terhadap kualitas tidur tidak mengalami perubahan.

English Abstract

The COVID-19 virus pandemic that has occurred since 2019 has claimed many lives, so the government took the decision to implement Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) which has an impact on symptoms of stress. So stress coping strategies will be needed that influence eating behavior in adults. This study aims to determine changes in eating behavior and determine stress coping strategies used by adults during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. This study was a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach involving 12 informants selected using a purposive sampling method carried out from October to December 2022 with coverage throughout Indonesia. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interviews and testing the validity of the data was carried out by triangulation of methods and researchers. From the study results, it was found that the coping strategy for changing eating is a strategy that focuses on solving problems (problem focused strategy) in the form of whether there is a change in adult eating behavior in terms of type/variety, portion and frequency of daily meals which are influenced by how to get food, and selection factors. From the qualitative study, 2 major themes and 8 categories were found. The first theme is related to changes in eating behavior during and after the COVID-19 pandemic related to larger portions, frequency and variety of eating after the pandemic than during the pandemic. During the pandemic, informants choose to process their own food rather than buy. The second theme related to the psychological impact during and after the COVID-19 pandemic includes changes in psychological conditions, the influence of anxiety in terms of getting food, and how to deal with anxiety, while the influence of the pandemic on sleep quality has not changed.
