Maharani, Firzaputri Maulida and Dita Rachmayani, S.Psi., M.A. (2023) Peran Intimacy terhadap Kepuasan Hubungan Romantis pada Dewasa Awal yang Menjalin Hubungan Kencan Daring. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Intimacy established in online dating differs from conventional dating and influences the achievement of relationship satisfaction in online dating. This research aims to examine the role of intimacy in relationship satisfaction among early adults engaged in online dating. Intimacy is measured using a translated version of the intimacy subscale in Sternberg's Love Theory Scale. Meanwhile, relationship satisfaction is measured using a translated version of the Relationship Assessment Scale by Hendrick. The research method employed is quantitative. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, targeting early adult individuals aged 18-25 years who are actively involved in online dating relationships through social media, dating apps, or similar websites, and have infrequent or no face-to-face meetings with their partners. The study involved 112 respondents, and data were collected through a Google Form distributed on various social media platforms. Data analysis utilized a simple linear regression model with the assistance of SPSS. The research findings indicate that intimacy plays a role in romantic relationship satisfaction among early adults engaged in online dating. This is evidenced by the coefficient of determination, which stands at 56.8, indicating that the variable of intimacy contributes to 56.8% of the variance in romantic relationship satisfaction. This research is expected to serve as an additional reference regarding intimacy and romantic relationship satisfaction, providing supplementary information for relevant stakeholders.
