Abstract

Perubahaan industri yang mengikuti perkembangan membuat perubahan dalam teknologi, khususnya pada sektor pekerjaan. Memahami teknologi adalah hal yang penting, dan pemahaman teknologi sudah di dapat oleh gen z. Gen z dikenal sebagai iGeneration, adalah sebutan generasi yang sudah berinteraksi dengan teknologi seperti internet sejak kecil. Keunggulannya dalam teknologi membawa manfaat pada perusahaan, namun gen z dikenal sebagai generasi yang memiliki kecenderungan dalam melakukan job-hopping. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perceived social support dan motivasi kerja pada pekerja gen z. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional. Responden dari penelitian ini berjumlah 94 pekerja aktif yang didapatkan menggunakan purposive sampling dengan kriteria yang telah ditentukan oleh peneliti. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis non parametrik spearman rho dengan bantuan software SPSS 25 for windows. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social support milik Zimet dkk. (1998) dan Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale milik Gagne (2015). Berdasarkan analisis yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh hasil bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan antara variabel perceived social support dan motivasi kerja, Makin tinggi perceived social support maka makin tinggi motivasi kerja, dan sebaliknya. Dengan demikian, memastikan baiknya perceived social support dapat membuat Gen Z lebih termotivasi dalam bekerja.

English Abstract

Change in industry followed by its growth resulting in a change of technology, specifically employment sector. Understanding technology is essential, and this understandment have been received by gen z. Gen z are known as iGeneration, is a term for those who have come in contact with technology like internet since they’re young. Their excellence in technology brought an advantage to a company, However they’re also known for the tendency of job-hopping.This study aims to determine the relationship between perceived social support and work motivation in Gen Z workers. This study uses a correlational quantitative method. Respondents from this study amounted to 94 active workers who were obtained using purposive sampling with criteria determined by the researcher. Data were analyzed using non-parametric Spearman Rho analysis techniques with the help of SPSS 25 for windows software. The instrument used in this study was Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support Zimet et al. (1998) and Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale Gagne. (2015). Based on the analysis that has been done, the results show that there is a significant relationship between the variables perceived social support and work motivation. The higher the perceived social support the higher the work motivation and vice versa. Thus, ensuring sufficient perceived social support can make Gen Z more motivated in work
