Abstract

Penelitian ini menyelidiki korelasi antara Pembelajaran Online dan Pembelajaran Mandiri di kalangan mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di tingkagt pendidikan tinggi. Dengan ekspansi cepat platform pendidikan online, memahami hubungan antara kemampuan mahasiswa untuk mengambil kendali atas pembelajarannya dan keterlibatan mereka dengan lingkungan pembelajaran digital sangat penting. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Korelasi dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sebanyak 153 peserta terdiri dari mahasiswa pendidikan tinggi Program Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris angkatan 2020 Universitas Brawijaya. Analisis kuantitatif menggunakan skala yang telah mapan untuk menilai tingkat pembelajaran mandiri mahasiswa dan pengalaman mereka dengan platform pembelajaran online. Implikasi dari penelitian ini mencakup desain instruksional dan fasilitasi pengalaman pembelajaran online di pendidikan tinggi. Memahami korelasi antara pembelajaran online dan kecenderungan pembelajaran mandiri dapat memberi informasi kepada pendidik dan lembaga dalam menyusun strategi efektif untuk meningkatkan keberhasilan dan kepuasan mahasiswa dalam lingkungan pembelajaran digital. Hasil penelitian ini menerima hipotesis bahwa terdapat korelasi positif moderat dan signifikan antara Pembelajaran Online dan Pembelajaran Mandiri berdasarkan sampel 43 dari 153 data poin. Korelasi Pearson berkisar antara -1 hingga +1. Nilai yang lebih dekat dengan +1 menunjukkan hubungan positif. Korelasi antara Pembelajaran Online dan Pembelajaran Mandiri sekitar 0,478, yang berarti korelasi tersebut moderat positif. Perspektif audiens terhadap pembelajaran melalui Pembelajaran Online dan Pembelajaran Mandiri adalah positif, menunjukkan bahwa mereka menyukai pembelajaran melalui metode Pembelajaran Online dan juga menerapkan konsep Pembelajaran Mandiri.

English Abstract

This research investigates the correlation between online learning and self-directed learning among ELT students in higher education settings. With the rapid expansion of online educational platforms, understanding the relationship between students' ability to take charge of their learning and their engagement with digital learning environments is of paramount importance. The study employs a Correlation design of a quantitative approach. The 153 participants consist of higher education students of English Language Education Program Batch 2020 of Brawijaya University. The quantitative analysis employs established scales to assess students' levels of Self-Directed Learning and their experiences with online learning platforms. The implications of this study extend to instructional design and the facilitation of online learning experiences in higher education. Understanding the correlation between online learning and self-directed learning tendencies can inform educators and institutions in tailoring effective strategies to enhance student success and satisfaction in digital learning environments. The result of this research has accepted the hypothesis that there is moderate positive and significant correlation between Online Learning and Self-Directed Learning based on the sample of 43 from 153 data points. The Pearson correlation ranges from -1 to +1. A value closer to +1 indicates a positive relationship. The correlation between Online Learning and Self-Directed Learning is approximately 0.478, this means that the correlation are moderate positive correlation. The audience perspective to learn through Online Learning and Self-Directed Learning is positive which shows that they like to learn through Online Learning method and also do Self-Directed Learning concept.
