Abstract
Perpustakaan menjadi salah satiu wadah informasi bagi sekolah dengan tujuan utuk meningkatkan wawasan siswa dan mengolah daya kreatifitasnya. SMP Negeri 4 Kepanjen merupakan sekolah rujukan di Kabupaten Malang dan memiliki perpustakaan dengan luas 835,44 m2. Degradasi nilai fisik perpustakaan yang disebabkan karena rendahnya minat baca dan daya kunjung perpustakaan menjadi suatu permasalahan serius. Permasalahan lokal tentang kondisi perpustakaan yang monoton dan hanya bersifat “Collection”, berdampak global terhadap rendahnya literasi siswa. Untuk itu perlu digunakan suatu metode yang dapat menampung karakteristik model belajar anak, sehingga perpustakaan tidak berkesan monoton dan senyap yang bertolak belakang dengan karakter anak yang suka berpetualang, sensasi baru, ceria, dan rekreatif. Metode Connected Learning dipilih sebagai solusi model ajar yang akan dimasukan kedalam model ruang yang dapat menampung karakteristik tersebut dan dapat berjalan selaras dengan visi misi dari kurikulum merdeka belajar yang berkarakter pancasila. Solusi ini dapat membentuk ruang belajar yang sesuai kebutuhan dari kurikulum merdeka belajar saat ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah rancangan ruang perpustakaan yang bersifat “Connection” bukan “Collection” yang dapat memberikan kebutuhan ruang siswa dalam belajar yang selaras dengan kurikulum merdeka belajar.
English Abstract
Libraries are one of the information sources for schools with the aim of increasing students’ insights and developing their creativity. SMP Negeri 4 Kepanjen is a reference school in Malang Regency and has a library with an area of 835.44 m2. The degradation of the physical value of the library caused by the low interest in reading and the low visitation rate of the library is a serious problem. The local problem of the monotonous library condition that is only “Collection” has a global impact on the low literacy of students. Therefore, a method that can accommodate the characteristics of children’s learning models is needed, so that the library does not seem monotonous and silent, which is contrary to the character of children who like adventure, new sensations, cheerful, and recreational. The Connected Learning method was chosen as a solution for the teaching model that will be incorporated into the spatial model that can accommodate these characteristics and can run in line with the vision and mission of the Pancasila character independent learning curriculum. This solution can create a learning space that meets the needs of the current independent learning curriculum. The result of this study is a library space design that is “Connection” not “Collection” which can provide students’ space needs in learning that are in line with the independent learning curriculum.
