Abstract

Salah satu sayuran tropis potensial di Indonesia adalah kecipir (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus L.). Permasalahan budidaya kecipir di tingkat petani, umumnya selalu berhubungan dengan polong konsumsi yang dihasilkan. Kegiatan pengembangan kecipir yang dapat dilakukan dengan mengevaluasi keragaman sebagai upaya mendapatkan karakter-karakter unggul dan mengidentifikasi potensi kecipir lokal untuk mengetahui galur-galur unggulan untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut dalam mengatasi permasalahan pengembangan kecipir. Tujuan kegiatan penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi Keragaman Genetik Karakter Polong Dan Biji Pada Populasi F3 Kecipir (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus L.). Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai September 2023 di lahan Percobaan Jatikerto, Kecamatan Kromengan, Kabupaten Malang, Jawa Timur. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode single plant, dimana setiap tanaman diamati berdasarkan variabel pengamatan yang ditentukan. Benih berasal dari satu populasi hasil dari persilangan dua tetua dengan kode persilangan F3.2 (PL.B 2.3 x MDM 1.2) ditanam sebanyak 74 individu dan tetua PLB 2.3 dan MDM 1.2 sebagai ragam lingkungan sebanyak 20 individu, sehingga total tanaman sebanyak 94 individu tanaman. Variabel pengamatan dalam penelitian ini meliputi pengamatan karakter kuantitatif dan karakter kualitatif. Data hasil pengamatan kuantitatif dianalisis dengan pendugaan nilai keragaman genetik, heritabilitas, dan kemajuan genetik harapan (KGH). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai keragaman genetik, heritabilitas, dan kemajuan genetik harapan masing-masing karakter kuantitatif memiliki kriteria yang beragam. Keragaman genetik yang memiliki karakter luas diantaranya panjang polong kering, jumlah polong kering tanaman, bobot biji per tanaman, dan bobot 100 biji. Nilai heritabilitas yang termasuk tinggi yaitu panjang polong kering, lebar polong kering, bobot biji per polong, lebar biji, dan tebal biji. Nilai kemajuan genetik tinggi yaitu panjang polong kering, jumlah biji polong, bobot buju polong, jumlah polong kering tanaman, bobot biji tanaman, bobot 100 biji, lebar biji, dan tebal biji. Karakter kualitatif pada populasi F3 menunjukkan bahwa terdapat keragaman dan keseragaman terhadap beberapa karakter. Keragaman terjadi pada karakter bentuk daun, warna mahkota bunga, warna kelopak bunga, warna polong, warna sayap polong, tekstur permukaan polong, bentuk polong, ada tidaknya bintik polong, warna biji, dan bentuk biji. Keseragaman terjadi pada karakter warna batang, warna hilum, dan permukaan biji.

English Abstract

One of the potential tropical vegetables in Indonesia is winged bean (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus L.). Problems with winged bean cultivation at the farmer level are generally always related to the consumption pods produced. Winged bean development activities can be carried out by evaluating diversity as an effort to obtain superior characters and identifying the potential of local winged bean to identify superior strains for further development in overcoming the problems of winged bean development. The aim of the research activity is to identify the genetic diversity of pod and seed characters in the F3 Winged Bean (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus L.) population. The research was carried out from March to September 2023 at the Jatikerto Experimental Land, Kromengan District, Malang Regency, East Java. The research was carried out using the single plant method, where each plant was observed based on the specified observation variables. Seeds originating from one population resulting from a cross between two parents with the cross code F3.2 (PL.B 2.3 x MDM 1.2) 74 individuals were planted and PLB 2.3 and MDM 1.2 parents as environmental variations were 20 individuals, so the total plants were 94 individual plants. Observation variables in this research include observations of quantitative characters and qualitative characters. Data from quantitative observations were analyzed by estimating the values of genetic diversity, heritability, and expected genetic progress (KGH). The results of the research show that the value of genetic diversity, heritability and expected genetic progress for each quantitative character has various criteria. Genetic diversity that has broad characteristics includes dry pod length, number of dry pods on plants, seed weight per plant, and weight of 100 seeds. High heritability values include dry pod length, dry pod width, seed weight per pod, seed width and seed thickness. High genetic progress values are dry pod length, number of seed pods, seed pod weight, number of plant dry pods, plant seed weight, weight of 100 seeds, seed width, and seed thickness. The qualitative characters in the F3 population show that there is diversity and uniformity in several characters. Variability occurs in the character of leaf shape, flower crown color, flower petal color, pod color, pod wing color, pod surface texture, pod shape, presence or absence of pod spots, seed color, and seed shape. Uniformity occurs in the characteristics of stem color, hilum color and seed surface.
