Abstract

Fenomena guru influencers adalah fenomena yang kini ramai diperbincangkan banyak orang. Kehadirannya dipandang sebagai wujud dari dampak pesatnya perkembangan teknologi khususnya media sosial Instagram. Tiap guru influencers diketahui memiliki caranya sendiri dalam membangun hubungan dekat dengan murid di kelas. Caranya tersebut tercermin pada konten video dan caption Instagram terkait aktivitas mengajar di kelas yang mereka unggah di masing-masing akun Instagram. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui makna di balik immediacy behaviors guru influencers pada konten video Instagram. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivisme dengan metode analisis tekstual Alan Mckee. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru influencers menggunakan 3 cara dalam membangun hubungan dekat dengan muridmuridnya yakni mengurangi jarak fisik dengan murid, menunjukkan empati, dan melontarkan candaan kepada murid. Selanjutnya ditemukan pula bahwa ketiga cara tersebut dipengaruhi oleh latar belakang, konteks sosial tempat guru influencers mengajar, dan usia. Penulis turut menarik kesimpulan bahwa guru influencers memegang kuasa reward dan expert di kelas.

English Abstract

The influencer teachers phenomenon is a popular topic now. Its presence is seen as an impact of rapid technological change especially on social media platforms like Instagram. Every influencer teachers are known to have their own method of building close relationships with students in the classroom. Their own method can be seen in their Instagram content related to teaching activities that they upload to their Instagram accounts and the caption. This research aims to uncover the meaning behind the immediacy behaviors of influencer teachers in their Instagram video content. This study employs a constructivism paradigm and using Alan Mckee's textual analysis technique. The results of the research reveal that influencer teachers use three methods to build close relationships with their students such as reducing the gap between teacher and students, to show empathy, and making jokes with students. Furthermore, it was found that these three methods were influenced by background, social context of the school, and teachers’ age. Influencer teacher was found using reward and expert power in the classroom.
