Abstract
Ilustrasi dark art pada musik death metal penting untuk menunjang visual musik death metal dalam tampilan Band. Ilustrasi pada band death metal tidak hanya menjadi visualisasi Band, akan tetapi dapat menjadi media promosi band untuk meningkatkan minat pendengar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah mix method atau metode penelitian campuran kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Metode kualitatif yaitu dengan cara observasi dan wawancara, sedangkan metode kuantitatif dengan menyebarkan kuisioner. Produk yang dihasilkan adalah video lirik dan merchandise (poster, cover single dan kaos) yang telah dirancang menggunakan ilustrasi dark art. Produk tersebut melewati 3 tahapan yaitu; pra produksi, produksi dan pasca produksi. Penerapan ilustrasi dark art menggunakan teknik digital painting melalui proses sketsa greyscale, coloring, detailing dan finishing. Perancangan ilustrasi pada lagu psylocybin Hyphocondriasis, dapat menjadi penunjang Band Vospison dalam melakukan promosi.
English Abstract
Dark art illustrations for death metal music are important to support the visuals of death metal music in the band's appearance. Illustrations for death metal bands are not only a visualization of the band, but can also be a promotional medium for the band to increase listener interest. The research method used is a mix method or a mixture of qualitative and quantitative research methods. The qualitative method is by observation and interviews, while the quantitative method is by distributing questionnaires. The products produced are lyric videos and merchandise (posters, single covers and t-shirts) which have been designed using dark art illustrations. The product goes through 3 stages, namely; preproduction, production and post-production. The application of dark art illustrations uses digital painting techniques through greyscale sketching, coloring, detailing and finishing processes. Designing illustrations for the song psylocybin Hyphocondriasis can support the Vospison Band in carrying out promotions
