Abstract

Pada tahun 2022, kasus Demam Berdarah Dengue meningkat dua kali lipat lebih banyak jika dibandingkan dengan tahun 2021. Jumlah kasus DBD di kota Malang pada tahun 2022 berjumlah 560 kasus, sedangkan kasus DBD di kota Malang pada tahun 2021 berjumlah 261 kasus. Dari sekian banyaknya kasus tersebut, usia yang mendominasi kasus DBD merupakan usia pelajar, khusunya dalam rentang usia 7-12 tahun. Yang mana, di tahun 2022 kasus DBD yang menjangkit rentang usia 7-12 tahun berjumlah 187 kasus. Hal-hal tersebut memerlukan tindakan pencegahan, salah satu tindakan pencegahan yaitu dengan perancangan media edukasi. Media edukasi pencegahan yang paling menarik bagi pelajar merupakan motion graphics. Maka dari itu, perancangan motion graphics storytelling “Awas DBD!” dilakukan untuk mengedukasi anak usia 7-12 tahun mengenai pencegahan Demam Berdarah Dengue. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif, yakni mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara, observasi, juga studi literatur. Data-data dari hasil penelitian digunakan untuk konten dalam perancangan, di mana proses perancangan melalui tiga tahapan, antara lain : pra produksi, produksi, dan diakhiri dengan pasca produksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan komunikasi SMCR (Source, Message, Channel, and Receiver) yang berfungsi untuk menjelaskan fenomena komunikasi tentang bagaimana penulis menyampaikan pesan (message) dari source (sumber/penyampai pesan) melalui channel (saluran/media) kepada receiver (penerima pesan). Adapun source atau sumber dalam penelitian ini adalah penulis beserta data informasi yang dimiliki, pesan yang disampaikan merupakan pencegahan DBD, media atau saluran yang digunakan sebagai perantara untuk menyampaikan pesan adalah motion graphics storytelling “Awas DBD!”, serta penerima pesan yang merupakan anak usia 7-12 tahun.

English Abstract

In 2022, the number of Dengue Hemorragic Fever cases doubled compared to 2021. The number of dengue cases in Malang city in 2022 was 560 cases, while the number of dengue cases in Malang city in 2021 was 261 cases. Among the many cases, the age that dominates dengue cases is the age of students, especially in the age range of 7-12 years. Which, in 2022, there were 187 cases of DHF in the age range of 7-12 years. These things require preventive measures, one of the preventive measures is by designing educational media. The most attractive prevention education media for students is motion graphics. Therefore, the design of motion graphics storytelling "Awas DBD!" is done to educate children aged 7-12 years about the prevention of Dengue Fever. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method, which collects data through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The data from the research results are used for content in design, where the design process goes through three stages, including: pre-production, production, and ends with post-production. This research uses the SMCR communication approach (Source, Message, Channel, and Receiver) which serves to explain the communication phenomenon of how the author conveys the message from the source through the channel to the receiver (message recipient). The source in this research is the author and the information data owned, the message conveyed is the prevention of DHF, the media or channel used as an intermediary to convey the message is the motion graphics storytelling "Awas DBD!", and the recipient of the message which is a child aged 7-12 years.
