Abstract
Peran direct of photography dalam pembuatan film dokumenter “Esedensies” sangat penting. Dalam pembuatan film dokumenter “Esedensies” penulis berperan sebagai director of photography membuat shotlist angle, shot type dan penentuan compositing. Director of photography bertanggung jawab penuh atas segala aspek visual pada film dokumenter dengan melibatkan audio, artistik dan pencahayaan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan, yaitu metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, studi literatur, dan studi eksisting. Permasalahan yang diangkat karena kurangnya kesadaran akan pentingnya keselamatan kerja dalam menambang belerang di Kawah Ijen Banyuwangi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa director of photography mempunyai peran dan posisi yang sangat penting dalam produksi sebuah film. Tugas utama director of photography menghasilkan gambar yang indah, hal pertama yang dilihat oleh penonton dalam film ada gambarnya.
English Abstract
The role of direct photography in making the documentary film "Esendensies" is very important. In making the documentary film "Esendensies" the author acted as director of photography making shot list angles, shot types and determining compositing. Director of photography is fully responsible for all visual aspects of documentary film involving audio, artistic and lighting. The method used in writing is a qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, literature studies and existing studies. The problem raised was due to a lack of awareness of the importance of work safety in mining sulfur in the Ijen Crater, Banyuwangi. The results of this research are that the director of photography has a very important role and position in the production of a film. The main task of the director of photography is to produce beautiful images, the first thing the audience sees in the film is the image.
