Abstract

Gingivitis merupakan reaksi inflamas gingiva yang disebabkan akumulasi biofilm pada plak di sekitar margin gingiva dan respon peradangan terhadap bakteri. Kehamilan merupakan proses fisiologis yang bisa memunculkan perubahan psikis atau fisik dikarenakan ada peningkatan hormon progesteron dan estrogen. Tingginya masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut berdampak negatif pada kualitas hidup ibu hamil. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang pemeliharaan kesehatan rongga mulut dan pregnancy gingivitis terhadap kualitas hidup ibu hamil. Metode penelitian ini adalah observasional analitik. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah total sampling. Pemeriksaan pengetahuan menggunakan kuesioner, pemeriksaan skor gingivitis dengan Modified Gingival Index (MGI). Analisis data menggunakan uji spearman lalu regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh antara tingkat pengetahuan pemeliharaan kesehatan rongga mulut dan pregnancy gingivitis terhadap kualitas hidup ibu hamil. Pengetahuan memiliki nilai koefisien (-1,202) bernilai negatif artinya semakin tinggi pengetahuan ibu hamil maka skor kualitas hidup rendah yang menunjukkan kualitas hidup baik. Status gingiva memiliki pengaruh yang kuat dengan nilai koefisien (2,717) bernilai positif artinya semakin ringan peradangan maka kualitas hidup meningkat. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil dari penelitian ini terdapat pengaruh antara tingkat pengetahuan pemeliharaan kesehatan rongga mulut dan pregnancy gingivitis terhadap kualitas hidup ibu hamil. Pengetahuan dan pregnancy gingivitis berbanding lurus dengan kualitas hidup ibu hamil.

English Abstract

Gingivitis is a gingival inflammatory reaction caused by the accumulation of biofilm in plaque around the gingival margin and an inflammatory response to bacteria. Pregnancy is a physiological process that can cause psychological or physical changes due to an increase in the hormones progesterone and estrogen. The high number of dental and oral health problems has a negative impact on the quality of life of pregnant women. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of knowledge of pregnant women about maintaining oral health and pregnancy gingivitis on the quality of life of pregnant women. This research method is analytic observational. The sampling technique is total sampling. Examination of knowledge using a questionnaire, examination of the gingivitis score with the Modified Gingival Index (MGI). Data analysis used the Spearman test and then multiple linear regression. The results showed that there was an influence between the level of knowledge of oral health maintenance and pregnancy gingivitis on the quality of life of pregnant women. Knowledge has a coefficient value (-1.202) which is negative, meaning that the higher the knowledge of pregnant women, the lower the quality of life score which indicates a good quality of life. Gingival status has a strong influence with a positive coefficient (2.717), meaning that the milder the inflammation, the higher the quality of life. The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that there is an influence between the level of knowledge of oral health maintenance and pregnancy gingivitis on the quality of life of pregnant women. Knowledge and pregnancy gingivitis are directly proportional to the quality of life of pregnant women.
