Abstract
Dalam penelitian ini menjelaskan terkait perjalanan Keraton Sumenep menjadi sebuah objek pariwisata museum yang diresmikan pada tahun 1965. Kemudian, peneliti juga mencoba untuk memaparkan hasil temuan di lapangan terkait komodifikasi yang terjadi pada Museum Keraton Sumenep dalam 10 tahun terakhir, dalam penelitian ini peneliti mencoba untuk memaparkan hasil temuan terkait proses transformasi warisan-warisan kesejarahan menjadi sebuah objek yang dapat diuangkan. Selama melakukan proses penelitian di Sumenep, peneliti berfokus pada 1) Bagaimana bentuk komodifikasi dari Museum Keraton Sumenep dalam 10 tahun terakhir, dan 2) Bagaimana strategi yang digunakan oleh pemerintah dalam melakukan promosi Museum Keraton Sumenep. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini, yakni untuk membantu peneliti dalam mengkaji mengenai persoalan komodifikasi Museum Keraton Sumenep serta strategi yang digunakan dalam upaya mempromosikan Museum Keraton Sumenep sebagai situs pariwisata sejarah di Kabupaten Sumenep. Peneliti dalam melakukan penelitiannya menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan etnografis. Adapun tahapan-tahapan dalam pengambilan data melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi, dan studi literatur. Peneliti kemudian menemukan hasil dalam penelitiannya: 1) pemaparan singkat terkait sejarah munculnya Keraton Sumenep hingga diresmikannya komplek Keraton Sumenep sebagai Museum Keraton Sumenep, 2) pemaparan data untuk menjelaskan bentuk-bentuk komodifikasi yang terjadi pada Museum Keraton Sumenep, 3) penjelasan terkait strategi-strategi yang diimplementasikan oleh pemerintah Sumenep dalam mempromosikan Museum Keraton Sumenep.
English Abstract
In this research, the journey of Keraton Sumenep as a museum based tourist attraction, inaugurated in 1965,. The researcher also attempts to present findings from the field regarding the commodification that has occurred at the Museum Keraton Sumenep in the last 10 years. In this study, the researcher seeks to elucidate the findings related to the transformation process of historical heritage into a moetizable object. While conducting the research in Sumenep, the focus is on 1) The forms of commodification at the Museum Keraton Sumenep in the last 10 years, and 2) The strategies employed by the government in promoting the Museum Keraton Sumenep. The objective of this research is to assist the researcher in examining the issues of commodification at the Museum Keraton Sumenep and the strategies used to promote it as a historical tourism site in Sumenep Regency. The researcher utilizes qualitative research methods with an ethnographic approach, involving stages such as field observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature review. The findings of the research include: 1) a brief presentation of the history of the emergence of Keraton Sumenep until inauguration of the Keraton Sumenep as the Museum Keraton Sumenep, 2) data presentation to explain forms of commodification occuring at the Museum Keraton Sumenep, and 3) an explanation of the strategies implemented by the Sumenep government to promote the Museum Keraton Sumenep.
