Abstract
Salah satu program Public Relations adalah membuat special event. Special event berkaitan dengan saat-saat penting sebuah organisasi dalam mencapai tujuan yang diinginkan. Agar special events berjalan dengan baik dibutuhkan strategi manajemen yang baik dalam penanganannya. Strategi manajemen dijabarkan melalui 4 tahapan yaitu mendefinisikan masalah, perencanaan dan pemrograman, mengambil tindakan dan berkomunikasi, dan mengevaluasi program. Keempat tahapan tersebut merupakan proses yang runtut dan berkesinambungan. Realitanya tahapan tersebut seringkali tidak semua dijalankan oleh praktisi public relations. Hal tersebut menarik untuk diteliti bagaimana strategi yang dijalankan oleh Public Relation PT. Infomedia Nusantara dalam mengelola special event Townhall Meeting. Event Townhall Meeting merupakan salah satu dari beberapa kegiatan PR dengan tujuan untuk mempererat hubungan semua publik internal PT Infomedia Nusantara seperti manajemen perusahaan dan karyawan selain itu juga sebagai bentuk apresiasi dan motivasi personal untuk seluruh karyawan perusahaan PT Infomedia Nusantara. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan cara mengumpulkan data-data berdasarkan dari hasil observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori Proses Manajemen Public Relations menurut Cutlip, Center, & Broom (2006).
English Abstract
One of the Public Relations programs is to create special events. Special events relate to important moments for an organization in achieving its desired goals. For special events to run well, a good management strategy is needed in handling them. The management strategy is described through 4 stages, namely defining the problem, planning and programming, taking action and communicating, and evaluating the program. These four stages are a coherent and continuous process. In reality, these stages are often not all carried out by public relations practitioners. It is interesting to examine how the strategy implemented by Public Relations PT. Infomedia Nusantara in managing the special Townhall Meeting event. The Townhall Meeting event is one of several PR activities to strengthen relations with all internal public of PT Infomedia Nusantara such as company management and employees as well as a form of personal appreciation and motivation for all PT Infomedia Nusantara company employees. The method used in this research is a qualitative method by collecting data based on the results of observations, interviews, and documentation. The theory used is the Public Relations Management Process theory according to Cutlip, Center, & Broom (2006)
