Abstract

Skripsi ini menganalisis Upin & Ipin The Movie (Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula) mengenai hubungan harmonis yang tergambar pada manusia dan hewan di film ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan bagaimana representasi dari hubungan antara manusia dan hewan disajikan pada film ini. Serta menganalisis mengapa manusia dan hewan bisa saling mempengaruhi satu sama lain. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Ecocriticism dari Glotfelty dan Garrard sebagai teori utama dengan dua teori pendukung yaitu Animals in Ecocriticism dan Human-animal Relationship. Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif sebagai panduan dalam penelitian. Dalam film ini, hubungan antar manusia dan hewan dapat saling mempengaruhi satu sama lain. Hubungan ini juga dapat dipengaruhi oleh keadaan lingkungan dimana hewan tersebut tinggal. Hewan yang terbiasa hidup berdampingan bersama manusia akan lebih mudah membangun hubungan yang harmonis ketimbang hewan yang berasal dari alam liar akan lebih bersifat agresif dan defensif terhadap manusia.

English Abstract

This thesis analyzes Upin & Ipin The Movie (Geng: The Adventure Begins) regarding the depicted harmonious relationship between humans and animals in the film. The research aims to discover the representation of the relationship between humans and animals is portrayed in this film and to analyze why humans and animals can influence each other. The study utilizes the Ecocriticism theory by Glotfelty and Garrard as the main framework, supported by two additional theories: Animals in Ecocriticism and Humananimal Relationship. The researcher employs a qualitative method as a guide. In this film, the relationships between humans and animals can mutually influence each other. These relationships are also influenced by the environmental conditions in which the animals reside. Animals accustomed to living alongside humans find it easier to build harmonious relationships compared to those originating from the wild, which tend to be more aggressive and defensive towards humans.
