Abstract

Digitalisasi sastra populer menjadi alternatif untuk menyelesaikan persoalan mengenai rendahnya minat baca serta menurunnya tingkat berpikir kreatif di masyarakat. Salah satu fenomena digitalisasi sastra populer saat ini yaitu Alternate Universe. Cerita fiksi penggemar ini memiliki konsep chatfic dengan fandom sebagai produsen, konsumen, serta distributor karyanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana minat baca serta tanggapan para pembaca Alternate Universe di platform X. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan prediktif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode resepsi sastra sinkronik. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah pembaca Alternate Universe serta dokumen karya fiksi penggemar AU yang diunggah di platform X. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara kepada pembaca Alternate Universe dan analisis dokumen karya fiksi penggemar yang diunggah di platform X. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah pembaca Alternate Universe di platform X didominasi oleh perempuan berusia 21–25 tahun, berstatus sebagai pelajar/mahasiswa, dengan intensitas membaca sebanyak satu kali seminggu berdurasi 1–3 jam dalam satu kali duduk. Adapun daya tarik Alternate Universe terletak pada cerita yang merefleksikan isu sosial, konsep dunia alternatif yang bersifat didaktis, serta penggunaan face claim idola yang diadaptasi sebagai karakter dalam cerita.

English Abstract

The digitization of popular literature is an alternative to solving the problem of low reading interest and decreased levels of creative thinking in society. One of the phenomena of popular literary digitization today is the Alternate Universe. This fan fiction story has a chatfic concept with the fandom as the producer, consumer, and distributor of its work. The study aims to find out how readers of the Alternate Universe read interests and responses on platform X. The type of research used is qualitative research with a predictive approach. This research uses synchronous literary reception methods. The source of the data in this study is reader of Alternate Universe as well as AU fanfiction papers uploaded on platform X. The data collection techniques are interviews with the Alternate Universe readers and analysis of fan fictitious papers posted on platform X. The result of this research is that Alternate Universe readers on platform X are dominated by women aged 21-25 years old, students, with reading intensity of one time a week with a duration of 1-3 hours in one sitting. The appeal of Alternate Universe lies in stories that reflect social issues, the concept of an alternative world that is didactic, and the use of idol-face claims that are adapted as characters in the story.
