Abstract
Portepel merupakan salah satu bentuk pelestarian naskah kuno yang harus diterapkan oleh masyarakat maupun instansi penyimpan naskah kuno. Naskah kuno merupakan kekayaan bangsa berupa sumber informasi yang ditulis oleh orang terdahulu sebagai jembatan komunikasi untuk mengenal pemikiran di masa lalu. Mengingat begitu pentingnya naskah kuno, maka perlu dilestarikan dengan tepat salah satunya dibuatkan kotak penyimpanan naskah kuno yaitu portepel. Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Jawa Timur merupakan salah satu instansi yang menerapkan pelestarian naskah kuno dengan membuatkan portepel. Dengan demikian, tujuan dalam penulisan Tugas Akhir ini adalah mengetahui pemanfaatan portepel sebagai bentuk pelestarian naskah kuno dan susunan pembuatannya pada Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Jawa Timur. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, studi kepustakaan, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Kemudian dalam penyelesaiannya ditempuh dengan observasi naskah, pengukuran naskah, pembuatan portepel, serta pemanfaatannya oleh masyarakat sehingga naskah kunonya dapat terlestarikan dengan baik dan warisan kekayaan bangsa dapat dipertahankan keberadaannya. Dalam hal ini, yang dapat dihasilkan adalah buku alur pembuatan portepel untuk mempermudah penerapan dalam melestarikan fisik naskah kuno. Adapun saran yang dapat diterapkan adalah meningkatkan kualitas SDM (Sumber Daya Manusia) dengan mengikuti bimtek oleh Perpustakaan Nasional agar pengetahuan terkait pelestarian dapat berkembang dan berkualitas.
English Abstract
Portepel is one form of preservation of ancient manuscripts that must be applied by the community and ancient manuscript storage agencies. Ancient manuscripts are the wealth of the nation in the form of sources of information written by previous people as a communication bridge to get to know thoughts in the past. Given the importance of ancient manuscripts, it is necessary to preserve them properly, one of which is made an ancient manuscript storage box, namely portepel. The Library and Archives Office of East Java Province is one of the agencies that implements the preservation of ancient manuscripts by making portepel. Thus, the purpose of writing this Final Project is to know the use of portfolios as a form of preservation of ancient manuscripts and the arrangement of their manufacture at the East Java Provincial Library and Archives Office. Data collection techniques used are observation, literature study, interviews and documentation. Then in its completion, it is taken by observing the manuscript, measuring the manuscript, making a portepel, and its use by the community so that the ancient manuscript can be preserved properly and the nation's rich heritage can be maintained. In this case, what can be produced is a portepel making flow book to facilitate application in preserving the physical manuscript of ancient manuscripts. The suggestion that can be applied is to improve the quality of human resources (Human Resources) by following bimtek by the National Library so that knowledge related to preservation can develop and quality.
