Abstract
Terdapat banyak fenomena yang menunjukkan mahasiswa cenderung memiliki kecerdasan emosional yang kurang, seperti sikap mahasiswa yang tak acuh pada lingkungan sekitar yaitu menggunakan gawai saat jam pelajaran; tidak menghormati pembicara di depan kelas; tidak menyapa; dan banyak hal lainnya. Tujuan diadakannya penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui Hubungan gaya kepemimpinan dengan kecerdasan emosional di lembaga Eksekutif Mahasiswa Universitas Brawijaya. Dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan cross-sectional, memakai sampel 100 responden yang merupakan staff masing masing kementerian Lembaga Eksekutif Mahasiswa Universitas Brawijaya. Hasil temuan menyatakan bahwa mayoritas anggota lembaga eksekutif mahasiswa di Universitas Brawijaya memiliki tingkat kecerdasan emosional yang sedang. Mayoritas anggota lembaga eksekutif mahasiswa di Universitas Brawijaya memiliki tingkat kepemimpinan efektif yang sedang. Korelasi Spearman antara Gaya Kepemimpinan dan Kecerdasan Emosional adalah sebesar 0.617, yang signifikan pada tingkat 0.01 (2-tailed), dengan nilai signifikansi (Sig.) sebesar 0.000.
English Abstract
There are many phenomena that show students tend to have less emotional intelligence, such as the attitude of students who are indifferent to their surroundings, namely using devices during class hours, disrespecting speakers in front of the class, not saying hello, and many other things. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between leadership style and emotional intelligence at the Student Executive Institute of Brawijaya University. Using a cross-sectional approach, a sample of 100 respondents were staff from each ministry of the Brawijaya University Student Executive Institute. The findings state that the majority of members of the student executive body at Brawijaya University have a moderate level of emotional intelligence. The majority of members of the student executive body at Brawijaya University have a moderate level of effective leadership. Spearman's correlation between leadership style and emotional intelligence is 0.617, which is significant at the 0.01 level (2-tailed), with a significance value (Sig.) of 0.000.
