Abstract

Every human being needs sleep, which is a physiological necessity for every individual, including students. When someone experiences sleep problems, it will affect their health. There are many factors that influence students' sleep, such as activities during and outside of lectures, gadgets, and excessive thinking. With all their activities, students often neglect good sleep habits, such as staying up late, difficulty sleeping, sleep deprivation, and oversleeping. These problems serve as the background for the researcher to address this topic in a video motion graphic as a medium to convey information that reminds students of the importance of healthy sleep. This motion graphic video will convey messages about the recommended sleep duration for each age group, causes of sleep disturbances, solutions for healthy sleep, and the consequences of sleep deprivation. By using qualitative research methods and a phenomenological approach, the researcher found that there are sleep problems experienced by vocational students at Brawijaya University. With the existence of this video motion graphic, students will become more aware of the recommended sleep duration for each age group and can apply healthy sleep practices.
