Abstract

Setiap manusia memiliki momen-momen istimewa atau berkesan dalam hidup. Banyak cara dalam mengabadikan momen tersebut mulai dari bersama keluarga ataupun dengan diri sendiri, agar momen istimewa tersebut memiliki makna serta artinya tersendiri. Memaknai hari lahir menjadi salah satu merupakan topik dalam makna sebuah momen istimewa yang paling dekat dengan kehidupan kita. Penulis mengangkat tema memaknai hari lahir untuk menyampaikan keresahan dari diri serta ingin menyampaikan ke khalayak umum setiap seseorang mempunyai cara untuk memaknai hari lahir dirinya sendiri, yang mungkin akan berhubungan untuk beberapa orang yang menikmati karya dari tema tersebut. Penulis mengangkat tema memaknai hari lahir dalam bentuk 2 media karya yang berbeda, yaitu seni lukis digital dan seni lukis manual. Penciptaan karya seni dalam tugas akhir ini berusaha untuk menjawab bagaimana konsep penciptaan karya dengan ide sumber kajian dari pengalaman pribadi penulis, dan bagaimana memvisualisasikan pengalaman memaknai hari lahir dalam sudut pandang penulis. Metode penciptaan yang digunakan ialah metode penciptaan dari L.H Chapman, yang terdiri dari tahap inception of idea, elaboration and refinement, heention in medium. Karya berjumlah tujuh buah yang dihasilkan, memvisualisasikan gambaran peristiwa memaknai hari lahir. Penciptaan karya ini bertujuan sebagai media ekspresi atau ungkapan pengalaman seni yang dirasakan oleh penulis sehingga bisa dikomunikasikan ke khalayak penikmat seni. Terlepas dari sebagai bentuk ekspresi memaknai hari lahir diri bisa menjadi peran penting dalam mengingat dan rasa syukur perjalanan hidup yang sudah dijalani. Harapan dari hadirnya karya ini, agar audiens dapat menemukan makna atau lebih memaknai hari lahirnya sendiri. Pada setiap karya yang terpajang dipameran memiliki respon cukup unik dari audiens seni, ada yang terhibur, merenung, serta keseriusan. Dari situ lah penulis cukup berhasil membawa mereka untuk bagaimana memaknai hari lahir dengan cara mereka sendiri.

English Abstract

Every individual experiences special and memorable moments in life. There are various ways to capture these moments, whether with family or alone, to give them their own meaning and significance. Interpreting one's birthday is a topic that holds particular importance in understanding these special moments closely related to our lives. The author explores the theme of interpreting birthdays to convey personal concerns and share with the general audience the idea that everyone has their own way of interpreting their own birthdays. This may resonate with those who appreciate works centered around this theme. The author approaches the theme of interpreting birthdays through two different artistic mediums: digital and manual painting. The creation of artistic works in this final project aims to address how the concept of creating art emerges from the author's personal experiences and how to visualize the experience of interpreting birthdays from the author's perspective. The creation method used follows L.H. Chapman's method, consisting of the inception of the idea, elaboration and refinement, and attention to the medium. Seven artworks were produced, visualizing the events surrounding the interpretation of birthdays. The purpose of creating these works is to serve as a means of expression or artistic representation of the author's experiences, communicating them to art enthusiasts. Beyond being a form of personal expression, interpreting one's birthday can play a significant role in reflecting on and expressing gratitude for life's journey.The hope with the presence of these works is that the audience can find meaning or further interpret their own birthdays. Each displayed artwork in the exhibition receives unique responses from art enthusiasts, ranging from entertainment to contemplation and seriousness. It is in these responses that the author successfully guides them in interpreting their birthdays in their own unique ways
