Abstract

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) merupakan penyakit autoimun kronis, inflamasi dengan etiologi yang tidak diketahui yang mempengaruhi organ dalam dan kulit. Penyakit Lupus dapat menyebabkan penderitanya mengalami berbagai efek perubahan. Prevalensi SLE yang ada di Amerika serikat adalah 5,8 sampai 130 per 100.000 penduduk, sedangkan pada Inggris dan Jepang masing-masing kurang lebih 40,7 dan 19,1 per 100.000 penduduk. Kondisi yang muncul setelah seseorang didiagnosa menderita penyakit Lupus dapat menghalangi penderita Lupus untuk menerima diri yang dapat berdampak besar pada kualitas hidup dan kondisi psikisnya. Teori 5 Stage of grief milik Kübler-Ross (1969) telah menjelaskan mengenai proses peneriman diri, yang menjelaskan bagaimana seseorang berproses untuk mencapai penerimaan diri ketika mereka menghadapi terminal illness, yakni penyangkalan, kemarahan, tawar-menawar, depresi, penerimaan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses penerimaan diri pada individu penderita penyakit Lupus. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif, dengan menggunakan studi fenomenologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Penentuan informan penelitian ini diambil menggunakan metode non-probability sampling, dengan jenis purposive sampling dengan jumlah 3 informan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan gejala pada ketiga informan, penegakan diagnosa yang diberikan oleh dokter membutuhkan beberapa waktu yang berbeda pada tiap informan, ketiga informan mengalami semua proses penerimaan diri, ketiga informan telah menerima keadaanya sebagai ODAPUS (Orang Dalam Lupus), dukungan keluarga dan sosial menjadi hal yang penting untuk membantu mencapai proses penerimaan diri.

English Abstract

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic, inflammatory autoimmune disease of unknown etiology that affects the internal organs and skin. Lupus disease can cause sufferers to experience a variety of altering effects. The prevalence of SLE in the United States is 5.8 to 130 per 100,000 population, while in the UK and Japan it is approximately 40.7 and 19.1 per 100,000 population respectively. The conditions that arise after a person is diagnosed with Lupus disease can prevent Lupus sufferers from accepting themselves which can have a major impact on their quality of life and psychological condition. Kübler-Ross' 5 Stages of grief theory (1969) has explained the process of self-acceptance, which explains how a person processes to achieve self-acceptance when they face terminal illness, namely denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance. The purpose of this study was to determine the process of self-acceptance in individuals with Lupus disease. This research uses a qualitative research design, using phenomenological studies. This research uses data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation studies. Determination of informants for this study was taken using non-probability sampling method, with purposive sampling type with a total of 3 informants. The results showed that there were differences in symptoms in the three informants, enforcement of the diagnosis given by the doctor takes some time which is different for each informant, the three informants experienced all the selfacceptance processes, the three informants had accepted their condition as ODAPUS (Orang Dalam Lupus), family and social support were important to help achieve the self-acceptance process.
