Abstract

Proses dan tahapan sebuah hubungan dengan membuka diri dan menceritakan tentang diri sendiri kepada orang lain disebut dengan self disclosure. Saat ini mencari pasangan tidak hanya dapat dilakukan secara tatap muka atau bertemu langsung melainkan dapat dilakukan melalui media aplikasi dating apps. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar peran motif cyber romance yaitu adventure, escape a virtual world, dan finding romance terhadap online self disclosure pada pengguna dating apps. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Kriteria sampel pada penelitian ini adalah usia 18-30 tahun dan pernah menggunakan dating apps minimal 3 bulan dengan jumlah sample sebanyak 137 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua skala pengukuran, yaitu Cyber-Relationship Motives Scale (CRM) dan General Disclosiveness Scale (GSD). Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis multiple linear regression. Hasil dari uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa motif cyber romance (adventure, escape to a virtual world) berperan secara simultan signifikan terhadap self disclosure. Terdapat peran secara parsial antara motif adventure dan motif finding romance dengan variabel self disclosure pada pengguna dating app, tidak terdapat peran secara parsial antara motif escape to a virtual world terhadap self disclosure pada pengguna dating apps.

English Abstract

The process and stages of a relationship by opening yourself up and telling others about yourself is called self-disclosure. Currently looking for a partner can not only be done face to face or meet in person but can be done through the media of dating apps. One must find out about the motives of cyber romance to be able to find out someone's purpose in engaging in cyber romance. This study aims to determine how big the role of the adventure motive, escape a virtual world, and finding romance in online selfdisclosure in users of dating apps. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with a purposive sampling technique. The sample criteria in this study were 18- 30 years of age and had used dating apps for at least 3 months. This research uses two measurement scales, namely the Cyber-Relationship Motives Scale (CRM) and the General Disclosiveness Scale (GSD). The results of the hypothesis test show that the cyber romance motif (adventure, escape to a virtual world) plays a significant simultaneous role in self-disclosure, there is a partial role between the adventure motive and the finding romance motif in the self-disclosure variable in dating app users, there is no role partially between the escape to a virtual world motive and self-disclosure among dating apps users.
