Hubungan Dukungan Sosial dengan Modal Psikologis pada Orang Yang Pernah Menderita Kusta (OYPMK) di RSUD Saiful Anwar Malang

Abstract

Kusta merupakan suatu penyakit menular kronis yang mempengaruhi kulit, saraf perifer, dan dapat menyebabkan kecacatan fisik. Kecacatan fisik, kesalahpahaman, dan mitos yang terdapat pada kusta menimbulkan stigma pada masyarakat sehingga walaupun seorang penderita kusta telah dinyatakan sembuh, masih menanggung predikat penyandang kusta dan menanggung stigma dari masyarakat yang berdampak buruk pada kehidupan sehari-hari dan kualitas hidup orang yang pernah menderita kusta (OYPMK) tersebut. Terdapat faktor internal seperti modal psikologis serta faktor eksternal seperti dukungan sosial positif yang dapat mempengaruhi kualitas hidup OYPMK. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan sosial dengan modal psikologis pada OYPMK di RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif observasional dengan menggunakan metode cross sectional pada 30 subjek penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa dukungan sosial memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan modal psikologis OYPMK (Pearson, p = 0.011) dengan koefisien korelasi bersifat kuat (0.458). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah dukungan sosial berkorelasi positif dengan modal psikologis pada OYPMK.

English Abstract

Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease that affects the skin, peripheral nerves, and can cause physical disability. Physical disabilities, misunderstandings and myths surrounding leprosy give rise to stigma in society so that even though someone who has been declared cured still carries the title of leper and suffers from stigma from society which has a negative impact on the daily life and the life quality of leprosy survivor. There are internal factor such as psychological capital and external factor such as positive social support that can influence leprosy survivors’s quality of life. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the correlation of social support and psychological capital on leprosy survivors in RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. This research is an observational quantitative study using a cross sectional method which was conducted on 30 research subjects. Based on the result of the study, it was found that social support has a significant relationship with psychological capital on leprosy survivors (Pearson, p = 0.011) with a strong correlation coefficient (0.458). The conclusion of this study is that social support has positive correlation with psycological capital on leprosy survivors.
