Abstract
MTs Surya Buana merupakan institusi pendidikan yang berlokasi di Jalan Gajayana IV nomor 631, Kota Malang, Jawa Timur. MTs Surya Buana memiliki fasilitas berupa perpustakaan untuk menunjang jalannya proses belajar mengajar. Perpustakaan MTs Surya Buana saat ini memiliki 8.406 eksemplar koleksi cetak yang perlu untuk dikelola. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Mengetahui, mendeskripsikan, dan menganalisis tahapan pengembangan koleksi di Perpustakaan MTs Surya Buana Malang, (2) Mengetahui, mendeskripsikan, dan menganalisis penerapan standar koleksi pada Standar Nasional Perpustakaan (SNP) Sekolah di Perpustakaan MTs Surya Buana Malang, (3) Mengetahui, mendeskripsikan, dan menganalisis faktor pendukung dan penghambat pengembangan koleksi berdasarkan standar koleksi pada Standar Nasional Perpustakaan (SNP) Sekolah di Perpustakaan MTs Surya Buana Malang, dan (4) Mengetahui, mendeskripsikan, dan menganalisis gap dalam pengembangan koleksi dengan standar koleksi pada Standar Nasional Perpustakaan (SNP) Sekolah. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Perpustakaan MTs Surya Buana telah memenuhi 3 dari 6 tahapan pengembangan koleksi, yaitu seleksi, pengadaan, dan penyiangan. Sedangkan tahap analisis pengguna, kebijakan pengembangan koleksi, dan evaluasi masih belum memenuhi kriteria. Perpustakaan MTs Surya Buana juga memenuhi 3 dari 6 poin standar koleksi, yaitu pengolahan bahan perpustakaan; cacah ulang dan penyiangan; dan perawatan. Sedangkan poin jenis koleksi, jumlah koleksi, dan bahan perpustakaan referensi masih belum memenuhi standar. Faktor pendukung hal ini yaitu dukungan pendanaan dari lembaga pusat serta budaya kerjasama antar staf dan guru. Sedangkan faktor yang menjadi hambatan adalah kualitas sumber daya manusia yang sebelumnya menjabat; kondisi lingkungan dan fasilitas di ruang perpustakaan; dan belum dibuatnya kebijakan pengembangan koleksi. Selain itu penggunaan kedua teori berupa pengembangan koleksi dan standar koleksi perpustakaan dipilih sebab kedua hal ini memiliki keterkaitan dan saling melengkapi satu sama lain.
English Abstract
MTs Surya Buana is an educational institution located on Jalan Gajayana IV number 631, Malang City, East Java. MTs Surya Buana has facilities in the form of a library to support the teaching and learning process. The MTs Surya Buana Library currently has 8,406 copies of the print collection that need to be managed. The objectives of this research are: (1) Knowing, describing, and analyzing the stages of collection development at the MTs Surya Buana Malang Library, (2) Knowing, describing, and analyzing the application of collection standards in the National School Library Standards (SNP) at the MTs Surya Buana Library Malang, (3) Knowing, describing, and analyzing supporting and inhibiting factors for collection development based on collection standards in the National School Library Standards (SNP) at the MTs Surya Buana Malang Library, and (4) Knowing, describing, and analyzing gaps in collection development by collection standards in the National School Library Standards (SNP). This research was conducted using qualitative methods. The research results show that the MTs Surya Buana Library has fulfilled 3 of the 6 stages in the collection development process, namely selection, procurement and weeding. Meanwhile, the user analysis, collection development policy and evaluation stages still do not meet the criteria. The MTs Surya Buana Library also meets 3 of the 6 collection standard points, namely processing library materials; re-chopping and weeding; and treatment. Meanwhile, the points of collection type, number of collections and reference library materials still do not meet the standards. Supporting factors for this are funding support from central institutions and a culture of collaboration between staff and teachers. Meanwhile, the factors that become obstacles are the quality of human resources who previously served; environmental conditions and facilities in the library room; and a collection development policy has not been made. Apart from that, the use of two theories in the form of collection development and library collection standards was chosen because these two things are related and complement each other.
