Abstract

Sebuah penelitian menggunakan teknik in vitro produksi gas telah dilaksanakan di labolatorium Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Brawijaya untuk mengevaluasi kualitas ransum sapi Madura asli dan sapi persilangan Limousin (Madrasin) di Kabupaten Bangkalan. Materi yang digunakan adalah bahan pakan yang digunakna oleh peternak sapi Madura asli dan sapi persilangan Limousin (Madrasin) di Kabupaten Bangkalan. Susunan ransum yang telah dibuat sesuai dengan kondisi peternak (perlakuan A1, A2 dan A3), sedangkan ransum BI, B2 dan B3 adalah susunan ransum yang direkayasa menggunakan bahan pakan lokal untuk sapi Madura betina, sapi Madura jantan dan sapi persilangan Limousin jantan. English Abstract

It is well-known that rice straw and low-quality field grasses have been major types of feed offered to beef cattle in Bangkalan regency. Therefore, it is undeniable that low growth rates of beef cattle are often observed by offering those feeds. Attempts have been made to improve beef cattle productivity by including feed supplements such as legume leaves, tofu wastes, and rice bran. The method used in this study was an in vitro study which involved the following treatments: A1 = 58,63% field grass + 41,37% rice straw; A2 = 57,70% field grass + 13,57% rice straw + 28,73% rice bran; A3 = 42,99% field grass + 17,12% rice bran + 6,69% tofu wastes + 32,31% concentrate; B1 = 20% field grass + 25% odot grass + 15% rice straw + 10% rice bran + 20% tofu wastes + 5% leucaena leaves; B2 = 15% field gras + 30% odot grass + 10 rice straw + 15% rice bran + 15% tofu wastes + 7.5% leucaena leaves + 7.5% indigofera leaves; B3 = 10% field grass + 35% odot grass + 5% rice straw + 20% rice branx + 10% tofu wastes + 10% leucaena keaves. Parameters measured were nutrients content of ration; rumen ammonia concentration, and efficiency of microbial protein synthesis. A Randomized block design was applied for the data statistical analysis.The results showed that treatments B1, B2, and B3 had higher crude protein (CP) contents than the other treatments, namely 10,74% (A1), 11,65% (A2), and 12,64% (A3). Similar trends were also shown in ammonia concentrations (NH3) in which ration B3 had the highest NH3 concentratio (17,95 mM) followed by B2 (14,15 mM) and B1 (11,40 mM).
