Abstract

Perlombaan terhadap penggunaan maupun penguasaan luar angkasa telah terjadi sejak Perang Dingin. Dari perlombaan tersebut, muncul kemudian astropolitik dimana penggunaan politik pada akhirnya merambat ke suatu dunia yang baru, yakni luar angkasa. Akibatnya, juga terjadilah perkembangan astropolitik dalam hal space weaponization dan space militarization, dimana negara-negara yang memiliki kapabilitas dalam menggunakan luar angkasa, melalui praktis astropolitik mereka, melakukan proses militerisasi dan pengembangan senjata luar angkasa. Adalah tugas UNCOPUOS sebagai organisasi internasional khusus yang memiliki mandat dalam mengurusi permasalahan luar angkasa untuk menangani masalah dan ancaman yang disebutkan diatas. Garis besar penelitian ini akan melihat dimensi-dimensi dari astropolitik, kasus-kasus space weaponization dan militarization serta definisi maupun karakteristik yang penulis simpulkan. Melalui hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana perkembangan astropolitik suatu negara akan space weaponization dan militarization di dalam legitimasi UNCOPUOS

English Abstract

The race for the use and control of outer space has been going on since the Cold War. Out of this competition, astropolitics arose, where the use of politics eventually spread to a new world, namely outer space. As a result, there has also been an astropolitical development in terms of space weaponization and space militarization, in which countries that have the capability to use outer space, through their astropolitical practices, carry out the process of militarization and development of space weapons. It is the task of UNCOPUOS as a special international organization that has a mandate in dealing with outer space issues to address the problems and threats mentioned above. The outline of this research will look at the dimensions of astropolitics, cases of space weaponization and militarization as well as the definitions and characteristics that the authors conclude. Through the aforementioned matters, this study aims to analyze how a country's astropolitical developments regarding space weapons and militarization within the scope of the legitimacy of the UNCOPUOS.
