Abstract
Teh ihijau i(Camellia isinensis iL.) imerupakan itanaman iyang iberpotensi isebagai iantimikroba. Tujuan: Membuktikan efektivitas ekstrak etanol teh hijau (Camellia sinensis L.) mempunyai efek antibakteri terhadap Streptococcus agalactiae secara in vitro. Metode: Penelitian iini imerupakan ipenelitian ieksperimental ilaboratorik i(experiment-posttest ionly icontrol igroup idesign).
English Abstract
Background: Arround 65% of infections that occur in pregnant women are the result of premature irupture iof imembranes i(PROM). iPremature irupture iof imembranes i(PROM) is one of the main causes of infection that occurs in pregnant women. The microorganism that is often associated with infection and premature rupture of membranes is Streptococcus agalactiae. Green tea (Camellia sinensis L.) is a plant that has potential as an antimicrobial. Objective: To prove the effectiveness of ethanolic extract of green tea (Camellia sinensis L.) to have antibacterial effect against Streptococcus agalactiae in vitro. Methods: iThis istudy iis ian iexperimental ilaboratory istudy i(experiment-posttest ionly icontrol igroup idesign). This research was conducted using the well diffusion method which aims to determine the inhibition zone formed around the wellbore. Green tea extraction was processed using the maceration method with 96% ethanol as solvent. Conclusion: The ethanolic extract of green tea (Camellia sinensis L.) was proven to have an antibacterial effect on the growth of Streptococcus agalactiae in vitro at concentrations of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50%.
