Abstract

Kompetensi dosen merupakan keterampilan dan kemampuan dalam bidang pengetahuan serta perilaku yang dimiliki dan dikuasai oleh seorang dosen sebagai tenaga pendidik di perguruan tinggi guna memenuhi tanggung jawabnya akan tugas keprofesionalan yang diberikan dalam bidang pendidikan yaitu mendidik, mengajar, membimbing, menilai, dan melakukan evaluasi kepada peserta didik. Kompetensi dosen merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat memberikan kepuasan bagi mahasiswa. Kepuasan mahasiswa merupakan perbedaan antara situasi yang diberikan oleh universitas dalam rangka memenuhi harapan mahasiswanya dengan apa yang telah diharapkan oleh mahasiswa itu sendiri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memahami, mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis seberapa besar pengaruh kompetensi dosen terhadap kepuasan mahasiswa program studi Administrasi Pendidikan Universitas Brawijaya dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Variabel dalam penelitian ini meliputi kompetensi dosen dan kepuasan mahasiswa. Variabel ini dipilih karena cukup menarik dan bisa memberikan motivasi serta tambahan informasi sebagai penunjang kemajuan kompetensi di Universitas Brawijaya khususnya pada program studi Administrasi Pendidikan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Analisis Regresi Linear Sederhana yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menjadi pilihan untuk memastikan seberapa besar pengaruh variabel independen terhadap variabel dependen. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi dosen berpengaruh positif atau signifikan terhadap kepuasan mahasiswa dengan nilai (R2) sebesar 0.954 atau 95,4% sedangkan sisanya sebanyak 4,6% dipengaruhi variabel lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini.

English Abstract

Lecturers' competence refers to the knowledge, skills, and behaviors possessed and mastered by lecturers as educational professionals in higher education institutions to fulfill their responsibilities in the field of education, which include educating, teaching, guiding, assessing, and evaluating students. Lecturers' competence is one of the factors that can contribute to student satisfaction. Student satisfaction is the difference between the situation provided by the university to meet the expectations of its students and what the students themselves have anticipated. The purpose of this research is to understand, describe, and analyze the extent of the influence of lecturers' competence on student satisfaction in the Educational Administration Program at Brawijaya University using a quantitative approach. The variables in this study include lecturers' competence and student satisfaction. These variables were chosen because they are interesting and can provide motivation and additional information to support the improvement of competence at Brawijaya University, particularly in the Educational Administration Program. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression analysis. Simple Linear Regression Analysis was chosen in this study to determine the extent of the influence of independent variables on the dependent variable. The results of this study indicate that lecturers' competence has a positive and significant influence on student satisfaction, with an R2 value of 0.954 or 95.4%, while the remaining 4.6% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
