Abstract
Penurunan kondisi disertai adanya sakit kronis menjadikan lansia bergantung pada family caregiver dalam perawatan dan aktivitas sehari-hari. Lansia dengan sakit kronis membutuhkan dukungan dan bantuan keluarga sebagai family caregiver dalam perawatan di rumah. Penting bagi keluarga untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan family caregiver dalam memberikan perawatan. Self Help Group merupakan salah satu bentuk dukungan sosial untuk meningkatkan tingkat kemandirian family caregiver dalam merawat lansia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh pemberian self help group (SHG) terhadap tingkat kemandirian family caregiver dalam merawat lansia di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Dau Kabupaten Malang. Desain penelitian ini adalah pra eksperimental prepost-test one group design. Responden yang terlibat sebanyak 38 orang dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Berdasar hasil analisa data dengan menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test diperoleh nilai p-value (0.000) < α (0.05). Kesimpulan terdapat pengaruh self help group terhadap tingkat kemandirian family caregiver dalam merawat lansia di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Dau Kabupaten Malang. Disarankan penelitian selanjutnya dapat menggunakan kelompok pembanding untuk melihat keefektifan self help group dalam meningkatkan tingkat kemandirian family caregiver dalam merawat lansia dengan sakit kronis.
English Abstract
Decreasing conditions accompanied by chronic diseases make the elderly dependent on family caregivers for care and activity daily living. Elderly with chronic diseases need family support and assistance as family caregivers in home care. It is crucial for family to improve the knowledge and skills of family caregivers in providing care. Self Help Group is a form of social support to increase the level of independence of family caregivers in caring for the elderly. This research was designed to determine the influence of SHG on the level of independence of family caregivers in caring for the elderly in the working area of the Dau Health Center, Malang Regency. The research was used Pre-Experimental Prepost-Test One Group Design. Respondents involved were 38 people using purposive sampling technique. Based on the results of data analysis using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test, the p-value (0.000) < α (0.05). The conclusion there is an impact of self help groups on the level of independence of family caregivers in caring for the elderly in the working area of the Dau Health Center, Malang Regency. It is suggested that further research can use comparison groups to see the effectiveness of self help groups in increasing the level of independence of family caregivers in caring for the elderly with chronic disease.
