Abstract
Kota Bandung telah dikenal sebagai salah satu pusat busana di Indonesia sejak tahun 1990 an. Kemudian di tengah-tengah industri besar busana, distro muncul sebagai respon busana mainstream. Berawal dari komunitas subkultur anak muda, distro hingga saat ini bertahan dan semakin menunjukkan kejayaannya. Penelitian ini melihat Kota Bandung sebagai ekosistem yang menunjang kreativitas berbusana di Kota Bandung, terutama dilihat dari aktivitas distro. Industri kreatif diibaratkan sebagai ‘organisme’ dalam suatu ekosistem, dan setiap komponen di dalam ekosistem saling menunjang satu sama lain. Penelitian ini melihat ekosistem di Bandung menggunakan ekologi kreatif. Konsep ekologi ini mencakup beberapa indikator, termasuk keberagaman, pembelajaran, perubahan, dan adaptasi. Adaptasi mencakup elemen-elemen seperti komunitas, kolaborasi, persaingan, dan kooptasi yang terlibat dalam aktivitas distro oleh komponen-komponen kreatif dan non-kreatif. Berdasarkan konsep ekologi kreatif Kota Bandung menunjang untuk kreatif bagi komponen pada aktivitas distro. Setiap indikator tersebut saling berhubungan dan ditunjukkan antar komponen di ekosistem kreatif Kota Bandung. Ekosistem kreatif pada aktivitas distro di Bandung terlihat dari fase produksi dan fase distribusi. Fase produksi kita melihat bagaimana respon dari tumbuhnya industri produsen mempengaruhi perkembangan distro. Pada distro berkembang di berbagai subkultur hingga mengeksplorasi tema lebih luas yaitu anak muda.
English Abstract
Bandung has been recognized as one of the fashion centers in Indonesia since the 1990s. Amidst the thriving fashion industry, the emergence of "distros" as a response to mainstream fashion has become prominent. Originating from youth subculture communities, distros have not only endured but also continued to thrive. This research views Bandung as an ecosystem that fosters creativity in the realm of fashion, particularly through the lens of distro activities. The creative industry is likened to an 'organism' within an ecosystem, with each component mutually supporting one another. This study employs the concept of creative ecology to examine the Bandung ecosystem. This ecological concept encompasses various indicators, including diversity, learning, change, and adaptation. Adaptation encompasses elements such as communities, collaborations, competition, and cooptation, involving both creative and non-creative components in distro activities. Based on the concept of creative ecology, Bandung nurtures creativity within the components involved in distro activities. These indicators are interconnected and manifested among the components within the creative ecosystem of Bandung. The creative ecosystem in distro activities in Bandung is observable in both the production and distribution phases. During the production phase, we observe how the response of the growing producer industry influences the development of distros. Distros have evolved from various subcultures to exploring broader themes related to youth culture.
