Abstract
Pencemaran air merupakan masalah yang sering terjadi di sungai-sungai di Indonesia. Sumber pencemaran air umumnya disebabkan oleh aktivitas manusia dan juga dipicu oleh pertumbuhan penduduk yang semakin meningkat. Menurut data Badan Pusat Statistik 2016, sungai brantas termasuk dalam kategori tercemar berat. Air untuk daerah irigasi mondoroko berasal dari sungai mondoroko, dimana Sungai mondoroko merupakan salah satu anak sungai dari sungai brantas. Oleh sebab itu dilakukan penelitian kualitas air untuk mengetahui kesesuaian kualitas air dengan tanah dan tanaman. Penelitian yang dilakukan berfokus pada masalah salinitas dan alkalinitas air irigasi. Setelah itu dilanjutkan dengan metode irrigation water quality index (IWQI) untuk menentukan kesesuaian air irigasi dengan tanah dan tanaman. Pemilihan lokasi titik sampel berdasarkan SNI 8995 tahun 2021 dimana pengambil contoh sampel air dilakukan di tempat masuknya air, tempat menggunakan air dan tempat keluarnya air. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa air irigasi mondoroko memiliki nilai bahaya salinitas yang rendah karena berada dibawah <250 dan nilai bahaya alkalinitas yang rendah karena berada dibawah <10. Nilai indeks kualitas air irigasi (IWQI) juga berada di antara 85-100 yang bearti memiliki batasan penggunaan air rendah. Berdasarkan nilai IWQI maka direkomendasikan tanaman yang cukup toleran dan cukup sensitif terhadap garam. Sedangkan rekomendasi tanah yang sesuai yaitu permeabilitas sedang, namun permeabilitas tanah pada lokasi studi tergolong sangat lambat sehingga harus diberikan bahan amelioran untuk meningkatkan permeabilitas.
English Abstract
Water pollution is a problem that often occurs in rivers in Indonesia. Sources of water pollution are generally caused by human activities and also triggered by increasing population growth. According to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics 2016, the Brantas River is categorized as heavily polluted. Water for the mondoroko irrigation area comes from the mondoroko river, where the mondoroko River is one of the tributaries of the brantas river. Therefore, water quality research was conducted to determine the suitability of water quality with soil and plants. The research conducted focused on the problem of salinity and alkalinity of irrigation water. After that, it was continued with the irrigation water quality index (IWQI) method to determine the suitability of irrigation water for soil and plants. The selection of sample point locations is based on SNI 8995 in 2021 where water sampling is carried out at the place of water entry, the place of using water and the place of water exit. The analysis showed that mondoroko irrigation water has a low salinity hazard value because it is below <250 and a low alkalinity hazard value because it is below <10. The irrigation water quality index (IWQI) value is also between 85-100 which means it has low water use restrictions. Based on the IWQI value, crops that are moderately tolerant and moderately sensitive to salt are recommended. While the appropriate soil recommendations are medium permeability, but soil permeability at the study site is classified as very slow so that ameliorants must be given to increase permeability
