Abstract

Wilayah pesisir merupakan daerah yang menyediakan berbagai sumber daya hayati dan terdapat berbagai macam aktivitas manusia. Semakin meningkatnya pertumbuhan penduduk, aktivitas manusia juga akan semakin meningkat dan menyebabkan terkontaminasinya perairan pesisir. Upaya pencegahan dan penanggulangan kerusakan lingkungan perairan dengan penentuan status trofik menggunakan metode Trophic State Index (TSI). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kondisi kualitas air di pantai Binor, Kabupaten Probolinggo dan menganalisis status trofik perairan di pantai Binor, Kabupaten Probolinggo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode deskristif diantaranya terdapat data primer dan sekunder. Pada data primer meliputi observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi, pada data sekunder meliputi jurnal, buku dan sumber lainnya. Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu metode purposive sampling. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan 2 kali pengulangan pada 3 stasiun pengamatan di 2 kedalaman yang meliputi pendugaan kualitas air diantaranya suhu, kecerahan, TSS, pH, DO,salinitas, nitrat, ortofosfat, total fosfat, alkalinitas, TOM, klorofil-a serta pengamatan dan identifikasi fitoplankton. Hasil pengukuran kualitas air di perairan pantai Binor, diperoleh nilai kecerahan 50–282.5 cm, nilai suhu 29–35⁰C, nilai TSS 16.7–34.3 mg/L, nilai pH 7.6–8.1, nilai DO 6.8–7.4 mg/L, nilai salinitas 22–32 ppm, nilai nitrat 0.0054–0.2612 mg/L, nilai ortofosfat 0.0022–0.0669 mg/L, nilai total fosfat 0.0269–0.5084 mg/L, nilai alkalinitas 11–18.2 mg/L, nilai TOM 1.264–17.696 mg/L, nilai klorofil-a 0.2821–0.8856 mg/L dan kelimpahan fitoplankton 2029–5697 sel/ml dengan nilai kelimpahan relatif pada divisi Cyanophyta 39.66%, Bacillariophyta 30.89%, Dinoflagellata 23.67%, Chlorophyta 16.46% dan Euglenophyta 15.64%. Indeks keanekaragaman 1.306–1.945 memiliki tingkat kestabilan sedang dan indeks dominasi 0.1605–0.4740 yang berarti tidak ada spesies yang mendominasi. Nilai TSI pada kedalaman 1 sebesar 43.56–61.44, yang menunjukkan perairan terseb ut dalam kondisi mesotrofik hingga eutrofik sedang. Nilai TSI pada kedalaman 2 sebesar 40.99–55.25, yang menunjukkan perairan tersebut dalam kondisi mesotrofik hingga eutrofik ringan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas air pada pantai Binor dalam kondisi kurang baik. Tingkat kesuburan perairan tergolong mesotrofik hingga eutrofik sedang. Saran yang dapat disampaikan pada penelitian ini yaitu perlu adanya pengontrolan pembuangan air limbah dari PLTU dan penanganan secara berkelanjutan dari pemerintah setempat, serta perlu diadakannya edukasi dan pengawasan terkait pengolahan limbah sebelum dibuang ke dalam perairan agar tidak terjadi pencemaran di perairan Pantai Binor, Kabupaten Probolinggo.

English Abstract

The coastal area is an area that provides various biological resources and there are various kinds of human activities. The increasing population growth, human activities will also increase and cause contamination of coastal waters. Efforts to prevent and overcome damage to the aquatic environment by determining the trophic status using the Trophic State Index (TSI) method. The purpose of this study was to analyze the condition of water quality on the coast of Binor, Probolinggo Regency and analyze the trophic status of the waters on the coast of Binor, Probolinggo Regency. The research method used is descriptive method including primary and secondary data. Primary data includes observations, interviews and documentation, secondary data includes journals, books and other sources. The sampling method used is the purposive sampling method. Sampling was carried out 2 times in repetition at 3 observation stations at 2 depths which included estimation of water quality including temperature, brightness, TSS, pH, DO, salinity, nitrate, orthophosphate, total phosphate, alkalinity, TOM, chlorophyll-a as well as observations and identification of phytoplankton. The results of the measurement of water quality in the coastal waters of Binor, obtained a brightness value of 50–282.5 cm, a temperature value of 29–35⁰C, a TSS value of 16.7–34.3 mg/L, a pH value of 7.6–8.1, a DO value. 6.8–7.4 mg/L, salinity value 22–32 ppm, nitrate value 0.0054–0.2612 mg/L, orthophosphate value 0.0022–0.0669 mg/L, total phosphate value 0.0269–0.5084 mg/L, alkalinity value 11–18.2 mg/L , TOM value 1.264–17.696 mg/L, chlorophyll-a value 0.2821–0.8856 mg/L and abundance of phytoplankton 2029–5697 cells/ml with relative abundance values in the division Cyanophyta 39.66%, Bacillariophyta 30.89%, Dinoflagellates 23.67%, Chlorophyta 16.46% and Euglenophyta 15.64%. The diversity index of 1.306–1.945 has a moderate level of stability and a dominance index of 0.1605–0.4740 which means that no species dominates. The TSI value at depth 1 is 43.56–61.44, which indicates the waters are in moderately mesotrophic to eutrophic conditions. The TSI value at depth 2 is 40.99–55.25, which indicates the waters are in mesotrophic to mild eutrophic conditions. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the water quality at Binor Beach is in poor condition. The fertility level of the waters is classified as mesotrophic to moderate eutrophic. Suggestions that can be conveyed in this study are the need for controlling the disposal of waste water from the power plant and sustainable handling from the local government, and it is necessary to hold education and supervision related to waste management before being discharged into the waters so that pollution does not occur in the waters of Binor Beach, Probolinggo Regency.
