Kata Kunci: tindak tutur direktif, tindak tutur, umpan balik guru I nteraksi pembelajaran mencakup komunikasi yang digunakan oleh guru dan siswa. Salah satu pola interaksi tersebut adalah umpan balik yang diberikan oleh guru. Para guru mungkin menggunakan strategi yang berbeda dalam menyampaikan umpan balik, termasuk penggunaan tindak tutur direktif dalam menyakan hal-hal yang diinginkan. Maka dari itu, penelitian kali ini mengamati bentuk-bentuk tindak tutur direktif yang biasa digunakan guru sebagai umpan balik secara tertulis dan juga alasan dalam penyampaiannya. Metode deskriptif kualitatif digunakan sebagai desain penelitian. Dalam pengumpulan data, observasi dan dokumentasi digunakan sebagai instrumen untuk mengambil ujaran-ujaran yang diungkapkan oleh guru. Dalam hal ini, seorang dosen di salah satu universitas di Indonesia dipilih sebagai subjek penelitian dengan beberapa pertimbangan. Sebagai informasi tambahan, dosen tersebut mengajar pada kelas dengan mata kuliah “Advanced Reading”. Kemudian, teknik analisis tematik digunakan untuk menganalisis dan mengkategorisasikan data ujaran. Terdapat sejumlah 89 data ujaran yang ditemukan yang termasuk ke dalam tindak tutur direktif berbentuk dalam umpan balik guru. Penelitian kali ini menemukan bahwa tindak tutur langsung merupakan tipe paling dominan dengan jumlah 50 ujaran yang terbagi dalam berbagai bentuk termasuk kalimat deklaratif, interogatif, dan imperatif. Sementara itu, tindak tutur tak langsung terdiri atas 39 ujaran yang terbagi ke dalam bentuk kalimat deklaratif dan interogatif. Lebih lanjut, dari enam (6) jenis fungsi tindak tutur direktif, permintaan dan pertanyaan merupakan jenis yang paling sering digunakan. Hasil penelitian kali ini menyarankan agar penelitian di masa depan dapat membahas lebih lanjut terutama dengan kriteria yang berbeda, seperti tipe-tipe tindak tutur lainnya, gender guru yang diteilti, dan kelas dengan mata pelajaran yang berbeda.

Keywords: directive speech acts, speech acts, teacher feedback Classroom interaction involves the language used both by the teachers and the students. One of which is the feedback delivered by the teacher. The teachers might use different strategies to give their feedback, which include using directive speech acts to intend what the teacher wants. Therefore, this study scrutinizes the common types of directive speech act performed by the teacher in the form of written feedback along with its reason to deliver. Descriptive qualitative was used as the research design. For data collection, observation and documentation were used to obtain utterances performed by the speaker. In this regard, one English lecturer at one of universities in Indonesia was selected as the subject of the study with several considerations. For additional information, the lecturer was teaching in a class under the subject “Advanced Reading”. Then, thematic analysis was used to analyze and categorize the data set. There were 89 number of data found from this study as directive speech act in the teacher feedback. This study revealed that explicit acts were dominant with 50 data within declarative, interrogative, and imperative forms. Meanwhile, the implicit acts consist of 39 data divided into declarative form, interrogative form, and also complex sentence with its direct intended meaning. Furthermore, out of six types of directive speech acts, the function of the requestives and question were the most dominant types produced by the teacher. The result of this study suggested that the further research may take account into different criteria of giving feedback, such as the other types of speech acts, the teacher gender, and the subject of the class.
