Abstract
English Abstract
Construction of the Surumana Dam where it is located in Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi Province is prioritized to supply water for irrigation, domestic water, industry, and as a power plant. One of the procedures in dam planning is to conduct hydraulic analysis on the model test of the Surumana Dam's side channel spillway with an undistorted scale model of 1:60. The hydraulic analysis is conducted on the approach channel, spillway, side channel, transition channel, launch channel, energy dissipator, escape channel, and downstream of Surumana Dam. This analysis uses the model test as a control to compare the results with theoretical calculations. The results of the model test show that the escape channel, spillway, side channel, transition channel, launch channel, and energy dissipator are able to flow water at the design discharge up to QPMF without causing overtopping. The theoretical calculations of the water surface profile closely approximate the results of the model test at the Q100th and Q1000th discharge. The Surumana Dam is safe from cavitation risks at the Q100th, Q1000th, and QPMF discharge, both based on the theoretical calculations and measurements from the model test's piezometer readings. In the downstream escape channel, the deepest local scour was found. The theoretical approach that yields results close to the model test is achieved using the Zimmerman and Maniak formula.
