Abstract
English Abstract
Vaname Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is a fishery commodity that has a very high consumption value in Indonesia. The results of vaname shrimp production data at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries have increased every year. This has the potential to meet the needs of exports to several countries that have insufficient vaname shrimp production. In vaname shrimp rearing activities, there are many stages so that the conditions of the shrimp live media are in good condition. However, the obstacle that is often faced by cultivators when rearing is that the water quality is less than optimal for the needs of vaname shrimp. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the water physicochemical parameters on the growth rate of vaname shrimp. The results of this study can be used as a reference for aquaculture activities to carry out good water quality management. This research activity was carried out in one of the experimental ponds in the Situbondo area, East Java. This research took place from October 28, 2021, to December 14, 2021. The method used is a descriptive quantitative method based on the determination of the pond as research sampling, measurement of water quality parameters, and measurement of shrimp weight. This method is a method based on real-time data collection in the field to get the results and then analyze the data and the results and then compare them with secondary data obtained from the literature. The results of the measurement of water quality parameters in experimental ponds in the Situbondo area, East Java, have a temperature in the range of 29-34ºC, salinity around 24-37 ppt, pH around 8.3-9.2, TOM around 73- 212 mg/l, brightness around 15- 95 cm, and the alkalinity is about 116-220 mg/l. Based on these results, it is calculated from the results of the calculation of the Mean Body Weight (MBW) obtained from DOC 37 and 44 in ponds B1 of 4.35 g / head and 5.9 g / head, B2 of 4.48 g / head, and 5.4 g/head, B3 is 4.81 g/head and 6 g/head, and in the pond, B4 is 4.21 g/head and 5.8 gr/head, while the overall Average Daily Growth (ADG) is 0,7 g/day. The lowest ADG value was found in pond B2, which was 0.13 g/day, while the highest ADG value was found in ponds B1 and B4, which was 0.22 g/day during the 49-day culture period. Based on the results of the overall calculation, it can be concluded that pool B2 is included in the lessthan optimal category, while pools B1, B3, and B4 are included in the optimal category.
