Abstract

Ulkus traumatik merupakan salah satu kelainan pada mukosa rongga mulut yang insidensinya mencapai 83,6 % baik pada pria maupun wanita. Propolis merupakan salah satu bahan alami yang berasal dari bahan resin yang dikumpulkan oleh lebah madu yang banyak digunakan untuk pengobatan alternatif karena kandungannya. Asap cair adalah senyawa hasil kondensasi dari reaktor panas yang mengandung berbagai senyawa kimia yang berperan sebagai antioksidan, antiseptik, antibakteri, serta sebagai bahan pengawet. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui ekspresi sel TGF- pada proses penyembuhan mukosa mulut hewan coba tikus setelah pemberian nanogel kombinasi ekstrak propolis dan asap cair sebagai terapi penyembuhan ulkus traumatik. Metode penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental dan dilakukan di laboratorium secara in vivo dengan Randomized Post Test Only Control Group Design. Uji statistik menggunakan Kruskal-Wallis yang dilanjutkan dengan analisis Mann Whitney menunjukkan nilai signifikansi ≤ 0.05, sehingga terdapat perbedaan jumlah ekspresi sel TGF- pada kelompok nanogel kombinasi, kelompok nanogel ekstrak propolis, dan kelompok kontrol pada masing-masing hari. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa kelompok nanogel kombinasi memiliki peningkatan jumlah sel TGF-  tertinggi diantara kelompok lain yaitu pada hari ke-3 sebanyak 49,73. Maka dapat disimpulkan, terdapat pengaruh dari pemberian nanogel kombinasi ekstrak propolis dan asap cair terhadap peningkatan jumlah ekspresi sel TGf- pada proses penyembuhan ulkus traumatik mukosa labial hewan coba tikus.

Supervisior: drg. Miftakhul Cahyati, Sp.PM. Traumatic ulcers are a disorder of the oral mucosa with an incidence of 83.6% in both men and women. Propolis is one of the natural ingredients derived from resin materials collected by honey bees which is widely used for alternative medicine because of its content. Liquid smoke is a compound resulting from condensation from a hot reactor which contains various chemical compounds which act as antioxidants, antiseptics, antibacterials, as well as preservatives. The purpose of this study was to determine the expression of TGF- cells in the healing process of the oral mucosa of rat experimental animals after administration of a nanogel combination of propolis extract and liquid smoke as a therapy for healing traumatic ulcers. This research methods is experimental in nature and carried out in the laboratory in vivo with a Randomized Post Test Only Control Group Design. Statistical tests using Kruskal Wallis followed by Mann-Whitney analysis showed a significance value of ≤ 0.05, so that there were differences in the amount of TGF- cell expression in the combination nanogel group, the propolis extract nanogel group, and the control group on each day. From the results of the study it was found that the combination nanogel group had the highest increase in the number of TGF- cells among the other groups, namely on day 3 of 49.73. So it can be concluded, there is an effect of nanogel administration of a combination of propolis extract and liquid smoke on increasing the amount of TGf- cell expression in the healing process of traumatic ulcers of the labial mucosa in experimental rats.
