Abstract
English Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic forced adolescents to adapt to changes in lifestyle that occurred, resulting in a stress response in adolescents. One way to prevent stressors is to do physical activity to control stress. Physical activity can increase neurotransmitters, especially serotonin and dopamine hormones as well as the secretion of endorphins which play a role in creating a feeling of relaxation and happiness in individuals so that they can reduce stress levels. Stress experienced by adolescents has a negative impact, one of which is physical activity can decrease, leading to a decrease in nutritional status. The aimed of study is to examine the stress level of adolescents during COVID-19 pandemic on their physical activity levels. This research is cross-sectional study. Research subject were adolescents aged 15-18 years with a total of 426 respondents scattered in several areas in Indonesia. The data was obtained by online survey using the Google Form. The data were taken is stress levels and physical activity levels measured by DASS-21 questionnaire and PAQ-A questionnaire that already tested for validity and reliability. The study results found that adolescents who experienced high stress levels were 7.76% and who had low levels of physical activity were 92.25%. The results of research analysis of the relationship between adolescent stress levels during the COVID-19 pandemic and levels of physical activity have a p-value of 0.033. Based bivariate test between adolescent stress levels during the COVID-19 pandemic and physical activity levels obtained a significant relation.
