Abstract

Perawatan gigi dan mulut yang paling sering dilakukan oleh dokter gigi adalah ekstraksi gigi dan dapat menimbulkan luka kemudian akan diikuti dengan wound healing. Wound healing dapat terganggu karena medical compromise seperti diabetes mellitus. Indonesia kaya akan bahan alami yang memiliki banyak manfaat seperti buah okra. Tujuan dari study literature ini untuk menganalisis jurnal yang berkaitan dengan pengaruh pemberian ekstrak buah okra pada wound healing pasca ekstraksi gigi dengan diabetes mellitus. Metode yang digunakan adalah pencarian literature berupa original artikel yang menggunakan penelitian eksperimen dengan metode in vivo dari beberapa database elektronik yaitu Sciendirect, Pubmed, Google Scholar, dan Proquest dengan kata kunci “Okra Fruit Extract”, “Wound Healing”, “Extraction”, “Wistar”, dan “Diabetes Mellitus”. Hasil review menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 5 jurnal yang menjelaskan mengenai kandungan dalamv ekstrak buah okra yang dapat mempercepat proses wound healing. Kandungan yang bermanfaat yaitu flavonoid, quercetin, isoquersetin dan quersetin-3-Oglucopyranosylglucoside. Peran flavonoid dan quercetin sebagai antioksidan yang dapat berpengaruh pada proses angiogenesis, pembentukan fibroblas, dan degranulasi neutrofil. Serta peran dari isoquersetin dan quersetin-3- Oglucopyranosyl-glucoside sebagai antidiabetes yang berpengaruh pada growth factor.

English Abstract

The most common oral treatment performed by dentists is tooth extraction and can cause wounds which will then be followed by wound healing. Wound healing can be disrupted due to medical compromise such as diabetes mellitus. Indonesia is rich in natural ingredients that have many benefits such as okra fruit. The purpose of this literature study is to analyze journals related to the effect of giving okra fruit extract on wound healing after tooth extraction with diabetes mellitus. The method used is a literature search in the form of original articles that use experimental research with in vivo methods from several electronic databases, namely Sciendirect, Pubmed, Google Scholar, and Proquest with the keywords "Okra Fruit Extract", "Wound Healing", "Extraction", "Wistar", and "Diabetes Mellitus". The review results show that there are 5 journals that explain the content in okra fruit extract that can accelerate the wound healing process. The useful ingredients are flavonoids, quercetin, isoquersetinvii and quersetin-3-Oglucopyranosyl-glucoside. The role of flavonoids and quercetin as antioxidants that can affect the process of angiogenesis, fibroblast formation, and neutrophil degranulation. As well as the role of isoquersetin and quersetin-3-Oglucopyranosyl-glucoside as antidiabetics that affect growth factors.
